We have been to Arezzo a few times now and it is just wonderful! A stunning little medieval town that doesn’t get too many visitors. Buzzing at night, and lovely, cobblestoned clean streets during the day. A super treat if you’re there during Saracino festival times in June/July or September - look it up, it’s very well worth the visit!

There is an antiques fair in the city the first weekend of each month -- best to avoid Arezzo during those weekends as it's very crowded. Also best to drive there because trains go there but taxis can be hard to come by. It's a beautiful small city and if you stay in the old part of town you can walk to anyplace you want to see. The highlight is unquestionably the Piero della Francesca frescoes in the San Francesco church (reservation needed). At night many of the side streets seem deserted but I never actually felt unsafe. On the other hand you can get into any restaurant you want and the major piazzas have a festive feel in the evening. I was there for 1 1/2 days, including a side trip to San Sepolchro, and I was satisfied with my stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed walking around such a historic city that was also so peaceful. If you are interested in art and history, then it is a fabulous destination. We had a great meal at L'Aganaia, a very relaxed restaurant with delicious cooking, obviously a favourite with locals

February 2023: Built on a small hill, two hours from Pisa by train and just an hour from Firenze, Arezzo is a very pleasant mediaeval city in south Tuscany and a place to spend a little time in. The city is lively but not crowded and walking around the old buildings and the city walls is easy. Although cars and vans go everywhere traffic is not a problem for visitors on foot.
Good food is easy to find and especially at the Piazza Grande where Logge Vascari looked after us on several occasions.
We loved our stay at Hotel Le Capanne! We were so exhausted from being tourists in Rome and Positano, that coming to Arezzo and relaxing by the pool all day was the perfect antidote. The staff at the Hotel are so accommodating and will do whatever they can to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen isn't open for lunch, but they made us sandwiches anyway so that we wouldn't have to travel into town. Loved, loved, loved this place!! And the in-house restaurant was exceptional! We ate there every night of our stay without question.
During our recent trip to Italy, we stayed in five different apartments, this one by far was the best. the two-bedroom apartment was spacious and had everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It was also clean and well maintained. The furnishings were modern, and the kitchen was well equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils.
The host, Stefano, was very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our staying.
This place was stunning. It was paradise like I was in heaven. It was peaceful, tastefully and authentically decorated to both place and theme. The wine was excellent, and I will come back to Italy just to stay here again longer. That staff was personable and very kind. PS I'm from USA; not sure why it's listed as Israel: I'm saying when we Americans think of "Tuscany" and picture it, I'd say this resort is SPOT ON.
Absolutely everything! A little bit of heaven and paradise on earth! The most beautiful setting and family I have had the pleasure of staying with. Stumbled across Arezzo and this hotel by accident with my sons football. I will be back with the whole family. The city is a 20min walk and is stunning. Vibrant with bars, restaurants and beautiful clothes shops! Don't hesitate to book, you will not be disappointed!
Ideally located close to Arezzo. The receptionist was very kind and accommodating, and the personel was kind and friendly. The room was okay. The dinner served at the hotel was good, and a lovely options. The breakfast had many options, and were good. The surrounding area seemed intersting and if the weather had been better (and the grass and wilderness had been cut) we would probably have explored a bit more.
- The hospitality of the hotel-stuff and their professionalism is really great. We had a very difficult day in Arezzo and they did everything they could to support and guide us!
- The beds are very comfortable - Good quality of pillow and mattress.
- The Breakfast was excellent - Great variety, fresh juice and very good mixture of sweet and salty options
A beautiful property in an incredible setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The property has recently been lovingly restored into a perfect small bed and breakfast hotel. We also enjoyed an excellent lunch on their terrace. There is a great choice of restaurants in nearby Arezzo but a car is needed.
The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the old town of Arezzo. The property is a beautifully decorated old aristocratic residence on the last floor of an charming building in central Arezzo.
Rossella and Jessica are lovely hostesses who genuinely care for quality of service they offer. We would stay there again next time we visit Arezzo.
Great location, in between the train station and the old city of Arezzo. I chose the hotel as a base to explore Umbria by train. Although i had make a reservation for a single room they gave me a bigger one. The room was renovated with a nice bathroom. Good value for money.
A charming old world hotel with an authentic time honoured atmosphere. location was very good for train travellers and the historic features of Arezzo were in easy walking distance. The staff made us feel welcome and the breakfast was an excellent Italian buffet.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was very extensive.
The hotel has a nice classic style. Location in the centre of town was perfect. Shopping on walking distance. Car parking available for a very modest price
Beautiful Tuscany hotel with friendly staff. The room was beautifully designed and comfy. Great view of the farm from the room. Free sauna was a bonus. We stayed for two nights and drove to Florence one of the days.
A very bright and functional apartment. The location is excellent: parking on the property, a 15 min. walk to the center of Arezzo , a trattoria across the street and a supermarket down the street.
You are staying in an amazing castle filled with antique furniture. We had an apartment with 3 large bedrooms. Great food in the hotel restaurant in the evening. Amazing overall experience.
The house is wonderful, well equipped and very cozy. The host is also helpful and really friendly. All recommendations if you’re looking for accommodation in Arezzo.
The place could do with some renovation. The position is excellent for visiting Arezzo and the hotel provides free parking, but that's the end of the good news.
The hotel was in a very good position and was really beautiful and well organized. Good also for the closeness to very comfortable and easy to reach parkings.
