Del Campo Square
Piazza del Campo is one of the biggest and most beautiful medieval squares in the world, so there’s no doubt every Siena visit needs to start here. Marking the centre of city life since the 1300s, it remains a bustling meeting point. Take in the strange, shell-like shape and get up close with the gorgeous fountain – you’ll find lovely views in every direction.

Piazza del Campo is a great place to sit and watch the world...
Piazza del Campo is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. It has a busy vibe at any time of the day, and the upper area is lined with places to sit and eat, drink coffee ,eat gelato or just soak up the atmosphere. The sloped piazza is home to the twice a year horse race, where riders representing the 9 neighbouring communes race each other on horseback around the piazza. The winners get bragging rights and while were visiting, they paraded through the town and around the piazza wearing fancy dress, singing and playing instruments. The torre del Mangia towers over the piazza, affording some much needed shade at certain points in the day.

Eating anywhere around the sides of the Piazza is okay,...
Eating anywhere around the sides of the Piazza is okay, mostly for people watching, getting off your feet and just taking it all in. But much better eating once you go exploring away from the Piazza.
BTW, if you want a similar piazza experience to Siena and its piazza, drive to Greve (yes, we had rented a car). Much smaller town, nice piazza with several places to eat and stores (not too touristy) of all kinds. We went there to eat and visit on the recommendation of a winery we just stopped in at while we were randomly driving through Tuscany (like driving through a postcard). Best recommendation anyone every gave us.

The apartment is spacious with cute wall decorations (the space is even bigger than in the photos). The location is perfect since it is literally a one-minute walk from Piazza del Campo and 3 minutes from the Duomo. The views from the rooms are beautiful. Everything was clean and the host was easy to contact.
Pictures alone cannot describe how amazing this apartment on Piazza del Campo is. Clean, elegant and truly spectacular in every way. We would be lucky to have the opportunity to stay here again!
We were a cycling group and this was a fantastic place to finish our trip. I’ve stayed at many hotels in Siena and this one is my favorite. The staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating. They offered safe storage for bikes and made sure we had a taxi to the train station as it’s a bit far to walk with luggage. The location is great. In a quiet neighborhood just behind the Piazza del Campo. Look forward to coming back!
The apartment was located in a Palazzo dating back to the 13th Century. It was lovely, functional and steps from Piazza del Campo. We were in the heart of Siena with many restaurants and shops. I would love to go back.
Clean hotel, beautiful view, and centrally located. Only a few minutes away from Piazza del Campo. Hotel staff and owner provided excellent service, they truly went out of their way to make us feel comfortable during our short stay. Would book here again next time I am in Siena.
Made it to the bus with the help of Zerwin from the hotel.
The hotel in Siena was fine, basics covered. Not too bad a walk to/from train station and center piazza del campo.
Had a fridge so that was helpful.
The staff was lovely and helpful.
Had a nice sized garden to sit in.
Great bathroom
A block away from an amazing street of so many small and good restaurants with mostly locals as clientele
One flight up from street level
The apartment was lovely and the view was beautiful! It was minutes in one direction from the Piazza del Campo and the other to the Duomo. The apartment was close to all of the sites, but extremely quiet. Both the bed and the fold out sofa were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped to do some cooking and convenient to shopping. Lots of wonderful places to eat in short walking distance. I highly recommend it.
The apartment gives the flavor of a medieval palace but it is modern in all the right places--the bathroom and the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable, it was quiet and I slept very well. It is very well located, steps from shopping, the Piazza del Campo. There's a supermarket a few steps away. Most all, Michelle, the concierge, and Melissa, the proprietor, were wonderful, kind, responsive, and informative! I would definitely stay here if I returned to Siena.
The hotel is a short five minute walk from Porta Romana and a further 5-10 min to Piazza del Campo. The staff were great and the shower was the best that we experienced in our two weeks traveling throughout Italy.
The apartment is located in the old part of Siena in a quiet location within easy walking distance from the Duomo and the Piazza del Campo. The owner met us at his small B&B and showed us around the room. He also provided us with tickets for a morning beverage and pastry at a nearby cafe. The rooms are located in the top floor of their building. Our room had four windows that overlooked one of Siena's multiple canyons. It the evening we enjoyed the view of the large lighted church just across the canyon.
