This was one of our favourite stays of our whole trip round South America!!! The staff are so helpful and will plan your whole week for you, their Laguna 69 walk was the most incredible experience. The room is clean and the beds are huge.

When going on a trek they gave us a thermos with coca tea which was very nice. After checking out we could still chill in a nice area untill our nightbus.

We felt like home ! He go the extra mile to make sure everything is well. The rooftop terrace with the common area was the best, has a incredible mountains view.Chris booked all our tours for us completely hassle free. Adventure, home, hospitality you can even learn to climb, all in one place! Definitely recommend.

Hostal Universal ligger 500 meter från det stora torget och 400 meter från Oltursas busstation. Här erbjuds gratis Wi-Fi och en 24-timmarsreception i Huaraz. The owners are very nice! They arranged everything for us during our stay (good price), including tours, earlier breakfast etc. Also had a (very) early check in after a night bus. Location directly in the city center with the street market in the same street, but no noise. Hotel is just perfect to stay in Huaraz.

In short, 5 booked days turned into two weeks. We immediately felt at home and incredibly comfortable. For us it was a little paradise. The river that borders the house is perfect for swimming or fishing. From the outdoor kitchen you had a really beautiful view of the mountains, the river and the sunrise. It is a beautiful, quiet place with chickens, cats and sheep that belong to Walter's mother. She lives on the property and supplied us with little things to eat and drink from her little shop. When we were there, there were two baby cats that we really loved. It is super easy, quick and cheap to get to Huaraz town with the collectivo bus. From the property you can walk several small treks, such as to viewpoints and to a waterfall. We were lucky that Walter accompanied us on an adventurous hike to the waterfall. We already miss it and can highly recommend this beautiful spot in nature to everyone. It really exceeded our expectations. Thanks again to Walter and his mother.
