I noticed many empty buildings - what's going to replace them or fill them? I grew up in Pasadena - it's one of the most beautiful suburbs of Los Angeles - home to Caltech, the Hubble Observatory, and the Huntington Gardens - if you're unfamiliar with any of those institutions I highly recommend a visit to Pasadena. I spent three days in Pasadena where I visited the Huntington Gardens, the Descanso Gardens, and the LA Arboretum. I loved all of them! The Huntington was the most beautiful and detailed, Descanso felt like a wild, natural hike with a great museum, and the LA Arboretum had the best wildlife with turtles and peacocks with babies. I came to Pasadena for a four day conference. As a first timer here, I was skeptical at first to commute but found out travelling via bus is very convenient and cost efficient than driving. Pasadena is a great city to visit. The area of the Courtyard by Marriott is the most ideal to visit . Tons of restaurants and shops and really easy to walk around. I liked most that there are NO TV or noises from guest rooms near my room; It's a nonsmoking Hotel; The rooms doesn't have any stale or odors in them (at least not in my room); There are NO guest hanging-out, talking, or on cellphones in the hallways or in front of my room's door; There's a restaurant in the lobby; Rooms have mini Fridges, a Couch; Desk for writing/laptop work, and a Big Screen TV's in them; The bed and room is comfortable and clean (Traffic noise and Dust in my room being the only problems due to my Allergies, Asthma and Migraine health conditions which are sensitive to dust); The location is perfect, with Public Transportation; Restaurants; Parks; a Library, Bank, Market; Entertainment; Gas Station; Post Office; etc. nearby (walking distance); The rooms walls are NOT paper thin (Thank God:); The TV has lost of Channels to choose from, including HBO, Netflix, YouTube, Bluetooth, etc. options. I did not like that the rooms DO NOT have any Hardwood floors or Hypoallergenic carpeting in rooms specifically for Allergy suffers; The rooms DO NOT have Bathtubs in them (only Showers); There are NO Snack Vending machines on any floors 2-6 (Guest have to get it from the lobby/front desk); The rooms have NO Microwaves in them (but you can request one from the Front Desk (which they won't tell you you can do or have brought to your room); Delivery food have to be picked up from the lobby (due to the elevator being to far from the lobby to get to and no one to assist delivers to your room); The Hotel has NO room service; You will hear dogs/a dog (if any) barking when they are passing by your room via the hallways and or in guest rooms next to yours; The PLUTO App Movies & TV Channels DO NOT work properly or at all (the Internet signal constantly disconnects or never gets connected). Housekeeping is every other day (wish it could be every 3 or 4 days for uninterrupted rest for guest whose stay is a week or longer).Guest review byLisa
