We just got back from staying here for a week and LOVED IT! They gave us a few complementary things (coconuts, bottle of wine, etc. during the stay and just seemed genuinely happy to have us! The bungalows are awesome, with A/C in the bedrooms (extremely necessary). We were with our 18 month old toddler and the following was awesome with a kid: - less than a block’s walk to the beach (chill dirt road) - ground level bungalow and fully gated property so pretty safe for her to run around - a smaller pool in addition to the big pool that she could stand in (she’s 80 cm tall) and has an umbrella so it can be fully shaded - had her own air-conditioned room (and they provided a big pack-n-play/crib) - no breakfast, but just 50 m toward the beach is an amazing breakfast place that we went to every morning (Bridgett’s Ranch - so many animals, wild and domesticated!)

Boasting a garden, Los Delfines Lodge is set in Puerto Viejo in the Limon region, 1.2 km from Cocles Beach and 1.8 km from Jaguar Rescue Center. The lodge was so beautiful - the indoor outdoor living, the care taken to the garden, the space in general. Away from the chaos of puerto viejo but and easy drive into town if needed. Great recommendations from the hosts who were the loveliest couple that provided us with information about the area, fresh fruit, and a sense of immediate comfort. Waking up and seeing animals everyday was an added bonus!

Comprising a garden and barbecue facilities, Green Corner is a recently renovated accommodation in Cahuita located close to Blanca. The accommodation is fairly basic, but had everything we needed. Loved the outside kitchen. The host, Monica, was very helpful and even arranged a dentist appointment for us when my wife broke a tooth. The great thing is the location, right on the edge of the national park and less than a 5 minute walk into Cahuita. We were lucky to see 15-20 howler monkeys in the garden as well as capuchin monkeys and an agouti. We actually saw more wildlife while chilling out at the property than we saw in the national park.

We had an amazing stay in Tortuguero at Raquel’s property! She was incredibly kind and welcoming — she even picked us up from the Roots office, which was such a nice gesture and made our arrival super easy. We were lucky to be among the first guests, and everything in the house felt brand new, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared. The setup was perfect for our group of 8, as we were able to enjoy both houses while sharing the garden and the patio. The space is ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring Tortuguero, and the attention to detail really made a difference. We recommend this place!
