We got the unit on the second floor. It had 2 bedrooms. Super comfy 200cm width bed. Fully equipped kitchen though the kitchen is outdoors, might not fit everyone. For us it was great. Barely any mosquitoes even outdoors. Nice place to buy fruits 5 minutes walk and a big organic supermarket less than 10 minutes walk. The beach is very close to the flat, big waves but we built sand castles with our baby so it was fine. It was very relaxing stay in a peaceful environment. They even have a laundry machine and were very responsive to all our requests. Felt very secluded. 10 minutes walk from the Jaguar Rescue Center.

Already the arrival was very pleasant: We were welcomed by Gabriel who picked us up from the boat and walked us to our house. The house was great! Lovely decorations, super clean, good wifi, kitchen equipped with everything you need, quiet and with green all around and right at the boarder of the National Park. Gabriel and his colleague Rodrigo gave us a little walking tour around the village with recommendations for restaurants and info/history about the town with a visit to the Turtle Museum. They were such great guys that we decided to do a Canoe tour with them the next morning and also that we enjoyed very much. Tortuguero is amazing and peaceful with its infinite beach, the canals & the park with its amazing wildlife - definitely one of our highlights of our Costa Rica trip.

The equipment of the cottage in which we stayed corresponds to the given category and is functional. The owner is very friendly and helpful. But what is absolutely exceptional is the location of the accommodation. The cottage is in a beautiful garden on the border of the town and the Cahuita National Park. This means that in a few minutes you can reach a well-stocked supermarket, restaurants. At the same time, you are a short distance from several beautiful and (in July) almost empty beaches and a tropical rainforest. As a bonus, capuchin and howler monkeys roam around the cottage almost daily, but you can also see agoutis, toucans and hummingbirds there. It's like you are staying in the middle of a zoo.

She was incredibly kind and welcoming — she even picked us up from the Roots office, which was such a nice gesture and made our arrival super easy. We were lucky to be among the first guests, and everything in the house felt brand new, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared. The setup was perfect for our group of 8, as we were able to enjoy both houses while sharing the garden and the patio. The space is ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring Tortuguero, and the attention to detail really made a difference. We recommend this place!
