Well worth the effort to travel to experience a lovely ryokan, it's host and the town. I paid for dinner and I'm SO glad I did. It was a highlight of my stay and in deed a highlight of my 5 week trip in Japan. You sit in a sunken seating area and watch the ryokan owner/cook prepare what felt like a large number of individual dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. I was concerned about hearing other guests because, being an older house, the walls are thin - but the night I was there all the guests were respectfully quiet. I had a view over the "river" which may be a mis-nomer - but it is a peaceful stream running through the pretty street. I highly recommend a visit.

Objekat Youth Hostel WANIHAMA-Beach side Lake BIWA se nalazi u gradu Ocu, na 15 km od znamenitosti Hram Sanzen-in, a nudi vrt, bar i pogled na planinu. We got a room with its own toilet and bathroom for a great price. Traditional tatami style room makes it feel very humble and homely. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - they drove us to the station very early in the morning.

Objekat GUEST HOUSE NAGORIYA, koji se nalazi u gradu Hikone, na 1,7 km od znamenitosti Hikone Castle, nudi smeštaj sa barom, kao i besplatan privatni parking. The owner is a great guy and the hostel is very charming. I slept well and had a great time.

Smeštajni objekat GYPSY TAKASHIMA ima besplatne bicikle, vrt, zajednički salon i terasu u gradu Katsuno. Amazing value for a big room in a comfortable, hostel-style accommodation. Takashima is a very quiet and beautiful town on the lake, and this is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommended!!

Objekat 片原楽家 旅人の長浜町家ドミトリー je smešten u gradu Nagahama, na 14 km od znamenitosti Hikone Castle, a u ponudi ima nepušačke smeštajne jedinice, terasu, besplatan WiFi u celom objektu i bar. The capsule room was so cozy and suitable for me. I have a good sleep yesterday.

Staff was amiable and very helpful. It was situated directly on the waterfront and there is a great waterfall just a short hike away.
