There was a slight issue with the drainage in our bathroom so a bad smell but Pablo acknowledged this and had put down drain covers in advance to try stop the smell from spreading when the shower wasn't in use

Pablo the owner was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond in every way. He learned all our names, gave us really detailed advice on what to do for tourist activities and never went wrong for food recommendations! A really nice sociable activity was cultivated and we became fast friends with other guests and a suggestion for evening activities was made every night. An amazing place to stay

Found the policy of having to pay in cash a little strange given it was the only place in Brazil where I had to do that. Also, I didn't always feel safe walking down the road towards the hostel and found that sometimes you had to wait a long time to be let in. It just felt a little unsafe late at night. Maybe having a card or code system might be better?

I liked the vibe and the willingness to keep everyone up to date with events etc. I also thought the staff were friendly.

- bunk beds are quite unstable, when you move the whole bed shakes - no ladders, very difficult to get up to the top bed - bathrooms often not clean and occupied

It was a little noisy during the night, sounds from the street can be heard in the room as it is quite a lively area.

Location of this hostel is perfect! It’s in the middle of old town and close to many bars and sights. The staff were super welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived😊

Nothing we didn’t like, only note is just that the city is super lively and there is always lots of music playing. It can be a bit noisy up until 11pm, but we weren’t going to bed before then so it wasn’t a problem!

Sometimes due to local events the cabs cannot come all the way to hostel but they can be hailed with a 5 min walk to elevator.

Old town location, beautiful charming building. Proximity to local festivals, elevador lacerda, cafes, museums, bars. Amazing staff, and social vibes

Hostel has good amenities and very good location on the heart of Pelourinho The staff specially Maru was very attentive, I had a situation at night (some of my belongings that were next to me on the bed were stolen while I was sleeping) and Maru showed willingness at all time to help me out even when I had already checked out (had an early flight so had to leave without solving the situation)

I would recommend arriving here during the day as the staff at night were quite unwelcoming and unhelpful.

This hostel was very social and the breakfast was amazing. The owner is really knowledgeable about the area and places to go that are nearby. I’d recommend arriving during the day while he is there so that you can receive the necessary information at check in.
