Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

This hostel is amazing! I initially booked 3 nights and kept extending my stay. I think this is mine 3rd of 4th review of this place. It’s all new, insanely comfortable and friendly place. Highly recommended!

They are always full, be sure to reserve ahead
The hostel has anything you might need. The staff generates an amazing environment, that allows you to meet new people if you want to. The kitchen Is the most equipped I saw in a hostel. Best hostel I stayed in the past 3 months of traveling

I extended my stay. Really nice, clean and comfy hostel. I also liked that everyone respected the quiet hours at night and the staff was giving you a lot of tips about what to do at the island.

This is a lovely hostel! It’s super clean, beds are insanely comfortable, all the people who work there are very friendly and all the doggies and cats are just a cherry on top! The kitchen is super well equipped. It’s also very, very close from the ferry dock. Highly recommended!

Nice hostel with super friendly staff! Good location in the main town but in a quiet street. Everything is nearby. The staff is super friendly, always with a smile and ready to help! The hostel is very clean, the beds are good and the room was really spacious which is handy when you go backpacking. I really recommend this hostel for a stay on Ilha Grande!

Bathrooms and showers could be cleaner
The staff, all the guys were helpful Only 2 blocks away from the beach, really close to the port, has everything close by, it's safe and the view is just wonderful

Good location, staff are lovely and friendly. Has a nice and chilled atmosphere, is very clean, decent kitchen for cooking. Dogs and cats too!

Best hostel I stayed in throughout my whole trip! Very clean, modern and new. Good kitchen, easy to meet people and a nice familiar atmosphere. The owners and staff were really great :)

Some days were too hot and AC could have been turned on earlier. Some guests were rude and noisy and there was nothing you can do about it, but in the end it is not the hostels fault.
This is a great hostel for a short stay in Ilha Grande, Staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Kitchen is well equipped and common spaces are comfortable. Rooms were big, with private toilets and showers that were cleaned every day. Location is perfect, walking distance from the main attractions of the island. You can book day trips, rent snorkel equipment and book your trip back to Rio from the hostel front desk at very convenient rates.

Lila Limao will stay in my heart. Everyone there was just amazing, the room is big enough and has a super clean bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and they have filtered water and coffee all day.The location is close to everything, but quiet and everything is easy to reach. I had a wonderful time there and special thanks go out to Felipe, William and Perseu🤗🤗🤗 who provide a unique Vibe💖

No breakfast options but plenty of things around and you have a space to cook and store your things

The upper bed is too high up so hard to climb up and too close to the ceiling and one bumps his head on the ceiling when getting up.
Everything was amazing. Very good hostel with excellent facilities and cozy common space.

This is a wonderful hostel with everything you need. Comfortable beds, AC from 20.00 until 08.00, really good kitchen, outdoor and indoor areas, nice bathrooms, helpful staff and a perfect location.

Kitchen can be a little crowded if busy
Very relaxed, good social area, kitchen was well equipped. Good location, fairly quiet and peaceful. The whole hostel was kept extremely clean
