Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe opening times for the pool were not made for the guests. 9AM-9PM. What about 7am-7pm? It would fit to those restaurant times. We wanted to use the pool at 9 am. Unfortunately it was not prepared till 10 am. I’m not sure whether the name Evergreen is right. They spread repellents and the cleaning water from the rooms were put into nature.
All of those working people were extremely kind and cool except the lady at the reception. I had a small problem and she was not willing to help me. Nature!

United KingdomThe bathroom was not very clean and very shabby, needs a complete refurbishment. It also had a very unpleasant smell. The food was tasty but quite ordinary it was served for one hour ... breakfast, lunch and dinner in what was like a canteen. It was buffet style and served from behind glass screens. You couldn't even serve yourself water or hot drinks. The meals were eaten in less than an hour and the restaurant area was then empty. The bar by the pool closed at 9pm so no other option than go back to your room. The room had a double and single bed, due to the heat we decided to use both beds, the single bed had a big dip in it and was very uncomfortable. Just be mindful the rooms only have meshing, no glass so all your belongings get damp and you feel constantly soggy! However, it did make you feel close to the rainforest .... a very novel experience. 2 nights was definitely enough.
The location was excellent and our guide Valantine was informative with a great personality. We enjoyed all the trips.

United KingdomGeared up for all inclusive tours! Be ready to be a sheep (it's not a bad thing, but you do need to be in that mind set) I think we blew thier minds a bit by opting for pay as you go :)
Great location - wildlife everywhere! Bungalows nicely equipped, excellent WiFi in rooms close to the hub areas. Definitely more fun to do your own thing if you can and not book all inclusive...we got special meals for our extra nights, so they definitely looked after us.

Jerseysituated in a beautiful area along the canals of tortuguero. food is buffet style and of good quality. we stayed for one night and spent another at a different small hotel in tortuguero village. Heidi on reception was very helpful she organised a driver to collect us from la Pavona to guapiles, where we picked up our hire car. She also organised a motor boat trip along the canals with Angelo at 6am which was excellent we saw lots of wildlife. A wonderful start to our holiday in Costa Rica

Costa RicaRoom 20 was dark, damp, insecty and noisy (frogs and heavy rain, no-ones fault but worth mentioning if you like sleep). If you use booking.com you will be sidelined in favour of large tour groups that descend every day or 2.
Lots of space and plenty of wildlife around. A beautiful location.

FranceWe liked everything.
- the location of the bungalow in the jungle; - the interior of the bungalow; - the reception staff which was so nice and so supportive. We are a French couple traveling by ourselves. We had only booked the room, with no service. The reception staff has organised everything for us, and very sympatically. - the guide, Fernando, of our boat tour, very interesting and very supportive - the lunches and diners, which are simple, but very good and very healthy.

United KingdomIf you’re after a real outdoorsy experience then this may be for you. Instead of did glass for windows it is just meshing. Not ideal when it’s raining. It’s impossible to keep anything dry, the bedsheets bath towels, clothing etc all damp. First big red flag was being warned not to take any food at all into your room because of the monkeys. I love monkeys, but if they can break into your room for food then a human can get in twice as easy, so leaving anything in the room without fear of it being stolen wasn’t possible. Again, a rainforest I get it. But the bugs that get into the room are on a whole other level. Having ants army of ants make their way through your room doesn’t scream 4* The bathrooms are dated and grotty. Smells very damp. The toiletries provided are very poor quality. All meals are served from behind a Perspex screen. By the most unhappy team members. It’s like being in prison. You can even get your own glass of water or juice. One of the pools is essentially river water I think? Absolutely gross. And if it shouldn’t have been like it, then there was no signage to say it was out of order.
It’s a quick 5 minute boat into the town. Buddha cafe has a lovely menu and great views of the river… I’d definitely recommend eating here over the hotel. Has trips available which are very good.

United KingdomOur room was damp all the time - no glass windows at all, just insect screens, with curtains for privacy (which just made the room dark and gloomy. "Free toiletries" were very low quality, shower gel in particular was useless. The entire site had a dated, neglected feel and the food and drink served was, barring one or two individual dishes, the worst we have ever had in a hotel. It was really poor quality and available options were very limited indeed. On arrival, we bought a "smoothie" at the pool bar, at US$5 each; it was condensed milk, ice and a splash of mango syrup. Getting to the hotel is an ordeal - minimum boat trip of 75 minutes. It's not clear on the hotel website that if you stay here, you are stuck in the hotel unless you catch a boat (free shuttle or 'water taxi'. We paid £120 per night and expected food and facilities to match that price. We would rate this hotel as 2-star at best, it's hugely overpriced for what it offers.
The swimming pool was nice and big. The reception staff were helpful and accommodating when we asked to cut short our stay and did not charge us for the night we didn't stay.

SwitzerlandAs the hotel is in the middle of the jungle insect bites are quite common, but at the time I was there the hotel run out of antihistamine cream... The cocktail glasses and beer bottles we consumed at the pool stayed on top of the tables for the three days without being clean up The room bathroom is old and not well taken care and the floor was not cleaned well in the three days we stayed FYI: public boats need to be taken before 4pm, we asked the hotel about it and it replied 7h later, too late to take them...

United KingdomSound travelled very easily between rooms because they are simply mosquito mesh windows and thin walls. This didn't really bother me too much, but if you're a very light sleeper you might struggle if you happen to be a busy part of the hotel (e.g. near pool or restaurant, or main path), or have noisy neighbours.
Right in the middle of the jungle, teeming with Wildlife - lizards, poison arrow frogs, and monkeys everywhere, I stayed for 4 nights and I didn't feel like I needed to leave the grounds, it was great to just live in nature. Amazing pool, excellent facilities and onsite breakfast/restaurant. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating.
