Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeWindows: People can easily see through the windows into the room from the ground floor. You will have to open the glass window to reach the wooden blinds and shut them for some privacy. Access: There are no lifts. The staircase to get to the second floor is slightly steep and narrow. There is barely enough room to fit someone carrying a large luggage. Be prepared! Location: Because it is relatively hidden, your taxi driver might get the location wrong (like ours did when we arrived) because the short road leading to the hotel is not named. A good landmark to use is the shop PENYET STATE OF NINE which is opposite the road leading to the hotel!
Room: Extremely spacious. The air conditioning is powerful and does not blow directly onto the bed. The room is constantly cool. Toilet and Shower: Clean. The shower and toilet are in separate cubicles and the toilet sink is in the open between the two cubicles. Water pressure and temperature control are great. Bed: Old and a little hard but comfortable enough. It has mosquito nets draped around it. Staff: 10/10. There is always someone on duty and ready to be of service - Even when we arrived at 12am! Location: Great. It's a short (and reasonably priced) taxi ride to the local haunts in Georgetown. It's located right off the main road after a short but wide alley and is quiet at night.

MalaysiaPosition of Bathrooms seemed a bit odd, but it's not a dealbreaker.
Good sized ground floor rooms. Spacious with comfortable beds. The sitting area was great as well. The staff was excellent, attentive and goes beyond their call of duty and that's very refreshing in a small boutique resort like the Muntri Grove

SingaporeSome noise coming from the nearby pub with a band, certainly not pleasant when trying to sleep But overall nothing really bad about this property
Great nice local charm and feel. Definitely coming back next time. Staff was really friendly also. Close to food centres and markets. The ground floor area is nice to hang out as well. A 24hr minimart nearby is a bonus

SingaporeA bit noisy at night from the nearby bar
I recently stayed at Muntri Grove and had a wonderful experience, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Joyce. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanour made my stay truly memorable. The hotel itself was charming, with comfortable rooms and a tranquil atmosphere. I highly recommend Muntri Grove, especially for the outstanding hospitality provided by Joyce and the rest of the staff.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing! It’s such a shame a bar has opened up around the corner, as I’m sure this hotel will get some bad reviews for it through no fault of their own, they offer ear plugs which worked a treat!
I want to make a special mention about Joyce. She was so warm and friendly (like the rest of the staff) and would always ensure she greeted us or said goodbye with a smile on her face whatever she was doing and whatever time of day or night! She helped us with recommendations and when she found out we were going to Langkawi next, she straight away made us a list of places to visit even though her shift was finishing, because that’s where she was from. She’s an absolute credit to your hotel! Then the rooms and hotels itself were just so beautiful and carefully considered for designing so make you feel like you were in an enchanted secret garden right in the heart of George Town. We never tried the breakfast but given the afternoon tea they put on I’m sure that will be just as delicious. Thank you for such a pleasant stay and wish we had more time in Penang, it’s a beautiful island!
