Located on the quiet side of the island, the beach is a couple of steps away from the pool, restaurant, and rooms. The hotel provides kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkelling gear for the use of the guests. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the thai food was delicious and the drinks were reasonably priced as was the food. We had the pool villa with sea view, which also comes with a plunge pool on the roof and seating for umpteen people. Rooms were comfortable and sufficiently clean and tidy with comfortable beds. Some may see the beach as a bit strange due to it not being totally sandy and white. On this side of the island, the beaches are quite rocky, and the sand is a brownish colour. On the other side of the island they have white sandy beaches, there are also lots of bars, shops and restaurants and a lot more people.

The upper deck area, especially the plunge pool was lovely. We were in villa number 2 and it was fantastic.

- here (and also in other Koh Chang resorts) they use a lot of chlorine with the result that we did not enjoy the pool and plunge pool that much - the amber sand beach is very pleasant, but the sea has cobblestones and is shallow for a long time, for which swimming is ok but not as perfect as hoped for. We rented motorbikes and went to white sand beach for a better beach experience (while enjoying our stay at Serenity)

- the service is excellent, whatever you ask, they arrange it with a smile - the apartment was specious and with a plunge pool on top and shade and sun areas, the showers were warm the aircon worked fine, and, it was very comfortable - the restaurant has a decent offering and seating as well as lounge areas - the location is right at the beach, they offer free canoes and sup boards that you can use

these are just observations and by no means made our stay bad... the hotel really is a fantastic place to stay and the staff are so kind and helpful. we will definitely be going back soon! We love to wake up early, sit outside or on the beach and drink coffee and watch the sun rise. unfortunately the rooms dont have a coffee machine and you cant get a coffee at the restaurant before 8am... a beachfront planters at the front of the chalet had been destroyed, i guess by the sea... would be easy to clean up or repair. just looked messy when everything else was so tidy. i know this isnt the fault of the hotel, but the beaches have a lot waste which spoils the experience. We always try collect up some rubbish as we walk... not loads, but enought to help out a bit, its a real shame... We serem to experience this wherever we go was same in vietnam and Bali. i dont understand why the owners of all the resorts on the beach dont get together and sort it out. everyone would benefit and it wouldnt take long to do if they kept on top of it.

the location was fantastic. so calm and quiet. away from the party side and more touristic areas. The rooms and public areas were very clean and tidy. All the staff are very polite and kind and are always happy to help out with any requests. The food and drinks are fantastic and and not expensive and plenty of options to choose from. Kayaks and paddle boards all free to use. we felt very relaxed and at home here.

The beach is minimal. We rented a motorcycle and found an awesome beach to the south (Long Beach) so it didn’t really mater.

Nice chill vibe away from the crowds. Very quiet. The women in the kitchen deserve an award!! I’ve spent over a year in Thailand and I rate their Thai cooking number 1!! So good! The staff were super friendly and helpful. Room (bungalow) was perfect with a nice outside sitting area. Nice pool. Highly recommend!

we knew this already but at this time of the year the tides will be low and so it becomes rocky but we went kayaking and paddleboarding during the high tide.

This was a return visit and I brought along my friends from Bangkok who really enjoyed the peace and quiet if you want a party this place is not for you but if you want to relax then its perfect

Highly recommend this resort. It’s a small and friendly oasis. Chilled, relaxed and has a somewhat bohemian atmosphere. Spacious and clean accommodation, king beds, with fabulous private plunge pool/jacuzzi on the roof. Good WiFi. Really good and quiet air con. Small kitchen area with tea/coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave. The resort has a small infinity pool with sun lounges. There wasn’t a massive beach area, but swimming in the shallow, still, clear and warm waters was so lovely. Breakfast was good, but the Thai food for dinner was so delicious, really tasty. Staff are smiley, speak good English and work very hard. We didn’t feel the need to venture further a field. Our enjoyable stay passed all too quickly.

Only very slight niggle, it's limited on the kitchen pots, pans, so self catering is limited, but with cheap prices in the restaurant who wants the bother! Small beach area.

Everything about this place from start to finish was amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, they even took us shopping. The villa with the plunge pool and roof terrace was amazing. The food is reasonable priced and very tasty. Hardly any wait for it and it all comes out together. Happy hour cocktails are great, tried quite a few! Stunning sea view from restaurant/ bar area. Would definitely return again.

We liked the remote and quiet location away from the busy tourist area. In this location you should have your own mode of transport, then all is well.

Absolutely fabulous beach bungalow with the waves literally lapping a few metres away. Restaurant at one side of the bungalow with excellent menu and lovely food. Great cocktails. Pool at the other side of the accommodation. Incredibly relaxing. Staff lovely.

The fact that holidays don't last forever....

Well maintained, clean property. incredibly friendly staff, family friendly setting. Comfy beds. Compact setting, the room is close to everything (pool, beach, restaurant), which is great with 2 small kids. Lots of shade from the trees. Quiet area of the island. Good happy hour at the restaurant. We will be back again for sure.

I only spent on e night!

We had a huge bungalow with all that you need. Good facilities on sea kayaking with new aquipment etc. Easy to rent a scooter. Nice & ckean pool. Nice place! Though not turquise water. Hammrock right next to the sea.

The whole east side of the island will fall asleep at 9 pm. This can be a good thing but do not expect music in the evenings anywhere.

Our stay was so pleasant and everything just felt perfect from the service to the rooms and the whole place. Very well kept place with clearly good management.

No dislikes, the hotel is on the quiet side of the island, there is nothing else there you'd need to travel if you wanted to go out in the evening, this was what we preferred but not fir everyone.

So friendly, lovely small resort hotel with its own beach (with free to use kayaks / canoes / paddleboards) and a nice good sized swimming pool. Food exceptional (be aware the portion sizes are large), happy hour for cocktails (they do a great Mojito).

Everything the atmosphere, facilities, staff very helpful, swimming pool, the jacuzzi at the roof top with beautiful view especially sunset. they have free kayak and paddle board to use for free. very tasty cocktail with lots of choice perfect for vacation

Nice serene location. very close to the ferry terminal. Need a bike or car if one intends to goto the market etc.
