The property was so private. Price wise it was so good if you have low budget I would definitely recommend. Upstairs was so warm.

The unit was roomy for 4 adults, great having 3 toilets between us. Very well placed for the Sunday market, mini golf and walking into town. Nice a warm with heat pump and heaters.

Great eating out, some a little overpriced however.
Great eating out, some a little overpriced however. Monday is a very quiet night for eating out!
For a good unpretentious meal try Cobb and Co. The Vine has a vast range of goodies. The Indian restaurants are all good.

A very nice town.
A very nice town. Small enough to be charming, large enough to have many choices for nearby activities and dining. We stayed here as a base for seeing things in Rotorua as well which was only a hour drive away, though some of the best thermal parts near Rotorua are only 40 minutes away.

1-2 days maximum is more than enough.
1-2 days maximum is more than enough. Food their is great and beautiful coffee, but do keep in mind everything is expensive as it is a tourist spot. Otherwise great location to visit. I visited Huka falls and Wairakei terrace hot pools which was an amazing experience.

Was not in Taupo long but what I saw looked good.
Was not in Taupo long but what I saw looked good. Smaller town with a nice atmosphere. Plenty of places to eat, things to see and do. Getting around Taupo in peak hours is a challenge so time your travel.

We just wanted the best affordable accommodation as we were...
We just wanted the best affordable accommodation as we were passing through to spend the day with family then returned again the next night. Loved having a comfortable and spacious hotel type room to relax in after a long drive.
The place is quiet and situated right in front of the lake.
The staff are so nice and very helpfull.
When we went hope we notice that we forgot our wet close in the bathroom and little while later the staff contacted us and told us that they found our belongings and they gonna arrange to send it to us.
The staff are so honest and the hotel is very nice, although we haven’t tried the pool and spa they’re pretty nice too, looks very clean.
Thank you so much, will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Taupo❤️
Loved our stay at The Hilton Taupo. Our room had an amazing sweeping views across the lake to the mountains. We stayed in a 1bdrm apartment which was the perfect size for our young family of 3. The room was a fantastic size so we could all stay comfortably. The pool and gym is great and very clean, gardens beautifully kept. But the staff are the best thing we think; from front desk to house keeping everyone was very helpful, laid back but attentive, warm, friendly and professional at every exchange. We will def go back.
We stayed at many hotels during our tour of New Zealand. Lake Taupo Motor Inn stands out as the best of the best. Why? Because it ticks all the boxes - friendly staff (they let us check-in early - really appreciated this), a quick and stress-free check-in, huge rooms (with a patio!), fantastic location - town center and the lake both a short walk away. Can park right up to your room, makes things much easier with heavy suitcases, And great value for money. It deserves all the stars.
Property is located on the lakefront not far from Taupo town centre - making it easy to explore on foot and enjoy the views, lake and nature surrounding it. We made a last minute booking but the owners were very prompt at checking us in. Lovely family run business with customer service at heart. Room/unit was very clean, comfortable and modern. Would return again in future - thanks Franky and Kavita.
Our Hosts Peter & Michelle were amazing! Very sociable and humble couple. The Lakeview room was top notch, beats any hotel room in Taupo. Freshly cooked bacon & Eggs, hash browns plus barista style coffee - Best I’ve had outside of Wellington. The views are cherry on the cake. Definitely staying there again.
Very nice and Super clean hotel , The Manager was very friendly and helped us a lot , Parking was very convenient, location was perfect - restaurants and shops very near and also the Taupo lake was near -me and my family enjoyed Taupo and staying in Ashbrook motel - Should've stayed more ..
It is across the road from Lake Taupō, and could be seen from the warm pool and spa. After my stay, I had planned to visit my friend in Taupō but because of the Auckland floods she couldn't make it back in time. The motel owner allowed me to stay the extra night for free.
We stayed here 3 years ago before the pandemic and then again last week. A complete reduction in services, staff, etc., but it works for us. Great little vacation home rather than a motel/ hotel room. The weather was terrible so we stayed an extra day.
Amazing views from the hilltop. Beautiful sunrise on morning. The hosts are extremely accommodating and we had a wonderful time. The dogs are so friendly and breakfast was delicious! If we are ever near Lake Taupo again we'll be staying here!
Maximum points for the Great Lake Motel Taupo. The studio was roomy, clean, and quiet. Loved the spa. Staff at reception supported us quickly when needed. The room was only minutes away from the restaurants and the lake. Highly recommend.
The location of this hotel is perfect! It's a very central location in Taupo. The staff were amazing and very friendly and we were upgraded to family suite free of charge. The facilities were clean and in working condition.
Don is amazing. It felt like a family member was welcoming us home. The place was clean, overlooking lake Taupō. It has good space to spread out! Thank you for the bag of chocolates on our arrival as well!
