Fabulous hotel, great for kids and families. Absolutely beautiful meal at the restaurant with staff that went that extra mile both at reception and in the restaurant. Pool for kids was very good and larger pool and spa also great. Loved that there was an adults only pool and part of the sauna/spa that way as a family, we could use the facilities and not feel like we were detracting from singles or couples experience as they could use the adult facilities.
Set amid the wonderful Alpine landscapes of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, this traditional 4-star hotel offers elegant rooms and excellent spa facilities.

At the foot of Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the country’s top ski resorts. The Bavarian style of its Alpine chalets includes beautiful flowers lining every balcony, and colourful frescoes adorning the outsides of houses.
The varied skiing and snowboarding in the surrounding Alps is based mainly on blue and red runs. To ski on the Zugspitze glacier you take a train up to the mountain then a cable car down to the slopes. The summit itself offers magnificent views of the valleys below, provided you’re lucky enough to get a break in the clouds.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a former host of the Winter Olympics and the World Alpine Ski Championships. It also has a ski jump that forms part of the world cup of that sport. In summer hiking is the most popular activity and a lengthy route leads up to King’s House on Schachen, a supposed castle that looks more like a house.
It was built for Ludwig II, the eccentric king behind the region’s most impressive castle – Neuschwanstein to the north-west of Garmisch. The road between them passes by Oberammergau, famous for its 10-yearly Passion Plays.

The town was very pleasant, clean, and had many local shops with handmade products. The whole town shut down at 9pm except a bar so do not expect to find any late night brauhaus or restaurants. I would recommend visiting the town during the winter season for outdoor scenery and activites.

We spent a week in GAP at the end of the winter season.
We spent a week in GAP at the end of the winter season. The weather was warm, but skiing opportunities were just perfect at the Zugspitze which is over 2500m high. From GAP, the train takes you to Munich in an hour, so you can enjoy a big city atmosphere and related activities once you get bored from skiing. By car, you need an hour to reach the most visited tourist attraction in Germany - Neuschwanstein castle. Overall GAP is a cool location for both summer and winter time.

What a lovely area, I want to move here. Such beautiful scenery, mountains for great hikes and lovely people.
It’s also an ok place for skiing, the slopes aren’t super long or the resorts not very fancy but it could be a great place to learn the sport.

Fantastic hotel. One of the best I've been to. Friendly service, both upon arrival and at breakfast. The room was not spacious, but very well laid out, I especially liked the built-in sofa bed with a shelf along the entire length, comfortable. The view from the balcony to the mountains in the distance was great! Enjoy! The spa area was open until 8PM, but the pool could also be used at other times. It was very nice, because we often came back later from trips.
The location is awesome. If you would like to stay nearby the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Bahnhof and cogwheel train station but want to avoid the nearby station chaos and also want mountain view rooms with big balcony along with nice in-house restaurant service, then this would be the perfect choice. The staffs were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. This central is just a 10 mins walk.
In short, we loved our stay. ☺️
Counter staff were very helpful with advice, and got us tips on how to spend our time in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, helped us buy tickets to Zugspitze and Alspitze, as well as providing us an electric kettle upon request. We got breakfast with the room, which had okay variety. Our room was quite spacious and had a nice mountain view. Overall, our stay was good value for money.
Everything about the hotel was nice. The people were very helpful, the room had an outstanding mountain view, the bathroom was super great. Location only 5 minutes away by taxi from the train station.
Breakfast was good, location was good. Will definitely visit again if I'm in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is located in a wonderful area providing a beautiful view of the Zugspitze mountain. The food was phenomenal (I am a vegetarian). If you want to go on a relaxing vacation surrounded by nature, this place is for you.
Beautiful historic 500-yr-old hotel in Partenkirchen, used in the 19th century by 'mad' King Ludwig II. Great views of the Zugspitze and Kramer. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Nice modernized rooms in Bavarian style. Second time here and didn't disappoint.
The hotel staff was friendly, the hotel room was clean, very nicely furnished, and the hotel was in a perfect location (4 min walk from the train station). Definitely a good place to stay, if you don't have a car in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Lovely apartment in a great location - just a few minutes from the bus/train station and the Zugspitzbahn.
Michael was very welcoming and provided extensive information on Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The room was larger than the usual hotel room. The breakfast buffet was exquisite. It even offered fresh-squeezed orange juice! We arrived very late, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
The house was cosy, 15 minutes away from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen main station by foot. The facilities were very good. Kitchen was equipped. Rooms were clean. Can recommend!
It is located in the center of downtown. Good location, clean room, good breakfasts and the helpful staffs. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again in the future.
The hotel is just perfect. From the staff, the facility, the breakfast, and the refills of the "free" (yes I said "free") mini bar, I just can't say enough good things.
Absolutely felt comoftable and was treated as I was a respected part of the home. Straight forward laid back hotel with the friendlest staff you can possibly imagine
