Bala lake itself is obviously the main attraction and that was well visited when we were there but there was plenty of car parking to access along with excellent options for access to the lake from various car parks on both sides of the lake. You could even take a ride on the steam train and get off at an excellent bay in which to canoe, swim, paddle and enjoy a full family day at leisure.JohnUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

The town has everything that you'd need & the surrounding countryside is beautiful with some easy walks & some for the more adventurous. I stayed for one night during a three-day cycling tour. Beautiful country around. White Lion Royal Hotel is a good place to stay, especially if you need an early start, as it serves breakfast early. It also serves excellent pub food - though the kitchen closed early this day, so I missed out. Disappointed of the town not a bit like we expected.Two nights we ate in a small Bistro just two doors from the hotel, the food was excellent and very friendly staff and service . It was called Cyfnod Cafe and Bistro.

As a vegan, my expectations were exceeded by the amount of options on the tasty hotel menu- at a very reasonable price mind! it was a very pleasant surprise. you all made us feel at home, especially the man with the ponytail (we didn’t catch his name). Good size toilet and shower. Sitting space is also very spacious and comphy to gather around the dinning table. There is Tv, VCR recorder, dryer everything you need out of home. the host was very pleasant and would deffinatly recomend the stay.
