Four days on the beach and I feel more drained than when I arrived. There is no corner to hide away from tourism and although it's beautiful water and breathtaking view, you can't completely detach because of the planes arriving and departing every half hour and people trying to strip you down for every penny in your pocket.

From travelling around Santorini we found Kamari to be the best part of the island. It is clean, has lovely restaurants and shops and whilst the beach is pebbly there are free sun lounges with a beautiful view out to sea. We hired a car and it was easy and free to park it near by. We would also recommend the Atlantis museum and the open air cinema.

A very neat promenade with a number of nicely decorated restaurants. However, when you go deeper inland, it is not arranged like that. The beach is better towards the big rock, because it has a better access to the sea.

The location is ok-ish as you have the beach (Kamari) nearby and some hikes that start a few hundreds of meters away from the property (e.g. Ancient Thira). There’s also a bus that can get you to Fira. There are also plenty of supermarkets, restaurants and even a great coffee shop and bakery at walking distance from the property. You’ll find street parking nearby and can perform self check in and check out which is convenient.
We didn’t like the facilities that much and the cleanliness. We found ants around the bed and didn’t get the room cleaned even when we asked for it. We left the “clean room sign” on the door and all we got were new towels.

It really is a good location.
It really is a good location. You do NOT want to be in Thira - just too busy.
Lots of restaurants and bars to choose from along the seafront.
Small compact little town with a bus service that seems to get well used. Bus stop is just up the road from the Hotel. Service is regular to other parts of the island. Do not drive unless you are competent and confident. They are nutters. Roads are not really adequate for a scooter - that's why we chose a quad bike. You need to be early or late into Thira because when the cruise ships disgorge their human cargo you get swept along with the tide - not good. It can get really hot during the day so suncream and hat and water a MUST.
Really glad we stayed in Kamari, much less crowded than Oía and Fira. Location of hotel conveniently situation in the town and fairly quiet. Enjoyed having a nice breakfast each morning with freshly squeezed orange juice, yoghurt, and other tasty foods, plus time to get to know the owner, Vangelis, and chat about the island of Santorini and things to do there. I also really enjoyed riding a bicycle around the town that Vangelis let me borrow. Thank you Vangelis for your kindness and hospitality.
Everything was great. the staff was really kind and helpful, the position of the hotel is the best you can get in Santorini as they have their own beach and it is a very nice beach. You will not find too much beaches in Santorini and this is why this place is so amazing. they aleo have 3 or 4 pools (and you have access to all of them) and a good breakfast.
To sum up, this is a very good choice if you want to have all the facilities at a good price and in the very best location - Kamari beach
The location of the hotel was perfect for the beach, bars, and restaurants. We picked this hotel also for the location to the airport as we spent our last day in santorini here.
We asked for an early check in and were able to leave our bags at the hotel until our rooms were ready, the receptionist showed us to our rooms and was very welcoming. The rooms were spotless and the air con was perfect just what we needed!
For location and cleanliness cannot knock this hotel and would stay again.
The staff was amazing , you feel immediately like you are home and welcomed . The smile never leaves their faces . ( especially Olga and Fia)
The hotel was super nice and our room was perfect for a family of 4. It was quiet and overlooking the pool area .
The location of the hotel was perfect: the beach , restaurants , shops , bus station to visit other places in Santorini are all a few minutes away, very practical yet very quiet and relaxing .
Everything and beyond was amazing. We changed three hotels during our stay on Santorini to have different experience in different locations on Santorini and also because our group stayed in Thira. But we regretted that we did that every single day. Santorini Crystal Blue Boutique Hotel was the best! We kept on coming back to see the the staff again which treated us as a family. This place was a real jam. Recommend to everybody. You'll not regret!
Very close to Kamari beach (beach itself, restaurants), but just away enough this is not a disturbance. Suitable for family as it has spacious living room and terrace. Hosts are very kind and thoughtful (we were very pleasantly surprised by welcome and goodbye gifts they provided). Close to an airport (which was nice for us as we arrived late in the evening) and way cheaper than accommodations on western side of Santorini
I loved every minute of my time at Hippocampus Hotel. The room was very nice with comfy beds, AC and a little balcony. The swimming pool was great. Very good breakfast. The staff is absolutely lovely.
The beach is only a few steps from the hotel, so is the bus stop to go visit other areas of the island. When I come back yo Santorini, I'll make sure to come back to Hippocampus Hotel.
Excellent location, exceptional hospitality by Hegi. Nice clean pool. Hegi went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable. She followed up on hotel transfers to and from the airport and arranged a very nice daylong tour of the island for us. She definitely changed my mind about Greek hospitality after the disappointment I had in Athens before going to Santorini.
George is very friendly and great host , Thank you for your welcome and care Your professionalism, attention to detail and warm hospitality made my experience truly memorable. during my recent stay [Auster house santorini]. Your commitment to ensuring a pleasant experience for guests much like me is commendable and much appreciated.
Location is amazing, right across from beach- but on quieter side. Room was ready so she let us check in early. Wish we had longer to stay in this part of Santorini. Not so touristy- well there’s some, but not like Thira. It’s more where locals vacation and I really liked that. We had an amazing terrace looking out onto beach.
The staff were more than amazing!!
Pascal, Kostas (i hope i spelled it correctly) and Ahmed, were a big help in our stay in Santorini and made easier to experience the island!
As for the hotel it self it was great! The room was spacious, good air conditioning with an amazing view.
Definitely it’s a go back to hotel!
Just everything, the hotel have everything you need, lots of pools, amazing breakfast, amazing staff, beautiful rooms, close to the beach, parking, just everything..
I have been in Santorini for a week while having every day another hotel in a different places and this hotel is one of if the best.
- Staff: very professional yet warm and friendly. Excellent team that makes sure you relax and unwind.
- One of the few hotel on Santorini with access to both beach and pool
- Sleek design
- Delicious breakfast open till noon, fresh ingredients, best restaurant in Kamari
The Hotel Manager(?) Vagelis, was very accommodating and helpful! I would honestly recommend this place to anyone who will be going to santorini. The location of Ira Apartments is great for Kamari beach, as well as Santorini in general. Especially if you have a car!
A beautiful, clean hotel with a large breakfast selection and a nice pool. And above all, very pleasant and helpful people. I definitely recommend – hotel Glaros, Kamari and Santorini. Thank you so much for a wonderful week.
My first stay here and I was amazed. The staff is so friendly and very helpful. It’s like being with family, the owner is very gracious and will sit and talk to you. I would not stay anywhere else on Santorini
Breakfast was OK, nothing special about it. The superior room is very nice! Highly recommend it! Also, they have three parking lots. If I will come back to Santorini, I will come back to Alexandra Hotel.
The hotel is beatiful: nice view, nice rooms, position ok in kamari, breakfast wonderfull.
The STAFF: Stamatis the best host in Santorini.. it was a pleasure meet you my friend.
Breakfast was on the borderline. The only important advantage of this Hotel was its location, as it was only about 50 m far from the very nice beach of Kamari in Santorini
Everything about this property exceeded our expectations even when our family staying at another hotel in Santorini came to visit for the day they too where blown away
