Beautiful city, fairly walkable. Seems to have a great public transportation system once you learned the stops. Watch the sunset from the bridge in Old Town, it is beautiful how the setting sun casts light on the buildings.

Ameron hotel was great - it was clean and the room was comfortable. The location was fantastic - you could almost walk everywhere in the old town and just 5 mins from the train station and chapel bridge. Very convenient, and highly recommended esp for those thinking of visiting Rigi, Pilatus or Titlis. Go to these mountains early to avoid the crowd.

Beautiful old city. Local people are very friendly for the lost and wandering tourist. If you’re into luxury shops, ornately decorated buildings and atmosphere, Luzern has it all. Fine dining restaurants but you can eat cheaper in a lot of smaller establishments. Close to the Pilatus, Titlis, Vierwaldstaettersee and those picturesque wooden bridges over the Reuss.

The staff was very friendly and efficient. Very good müesli, scrambled egg, and sausages at breakfast. The hotel is a very nice walk of only ten minutes away from Luzern main station, but you can take a bus as well, since they include a free public transport ticket for Lucerne.
