Tarifa has one of the best beaches I've been to. Large, with fine sand, clean and easy entry into the water. Due to the winds, the area is good for water sports (kite surfing, etc), not so much for swimming, due to the waves. Good position to watch the sun set into the sea. Great place to chill at a bar nearby the beach, eat ice cream, have dinner. Tarifa is also very close to Morocco, a short ferry ride away from Tangier. Tarifa is a very unique place with a super relaxed and good vibe. If you want to explore the coast line it's a great base, easy to park cars outside the old town walls. There are various dunes and historic sites to visit within 1 hour of the city as well as view points from various locations with unbeatable views of the coastline and seeing Morocco which is pretty special. For eating, there is an amazing Italian Restaurant highly recommended called La Trattoria. I am Italian and the pasta was very good quality for Spain. There are also lovely restaurants beyond the port along the beach and in the area just outside the old town walls towards this direction. It is easy to walk around the city and there is plenty of shopping in boutique shops as well as surfer/sports shops. Huge amount of water sports activities on offer too.

Nice beach and awesome kite boarders to watch. Pretty shops and a good walking town, cool places along the beach for a drink or to eat. Ferry terminal in the town. Lots of bars and restaurants. The town has a cool beachy vibe.

This place is very close to the main road through Tarifa, but on a pedestrian side street. Located at the 'top' of Tarifa old city so you walk down about 7 -10 minutes to get to the ferry and beach. The rooms are clean, and ours had a very spacious bathroom! There is a small fridge and coffee provided in the room as well as at reception. The hotel graciously accommodated our early arrival.
