We arrived late as our flight was cancelled and couldn't get here sooner. The owner very kindly waited up for us and gave me a number for a taxi for the following morning. She was very kind and welcoming. Woke up to the birds singing and a beautiful garden out the back. Spotlessly clean and comfortable 10/10

Lovely rooms, home from home feel. Owner was very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay here again and I would highly recommend.

This charming, quiet town has lovely canal walks and a large public park next to the town centre. The high street has good eateries and nice little shops. Don't miss the Coffee House Cafe, with it's great sandwiches and all-day cooked breakfast!
If you want to explore further the helpful staff in the central tourist office will suggest various self guided historic walks.
It is a perfect spot to overnight only a 15 minute drive from Stansted airport (and is NOT on the flight path, so no noise of passing planes), and easily reached by public bus #510 (or #509) which runs a regular service to and from the town even at night.

Bishops Stortford is a lovely old town which is relatively compact so it is easy to walk around the town centre. There is a good range of shops and quaint tea rooms and excellent restaurants. There’s a river and the station is close to the town centre. It can be a bit noisy especially on Saturday evenings.

Bishop's Stortford is a very picturesque town with friendly people who seem disposed to being welcoming and helpful to travellers. We were only passing through on our way from Stansted Airport to London, nevertheless, we enjoyed visiting the town and would have liked to have stayed a little longer to explore it a bit more

I had limited time to explore the town but I enjoyed walking around on Saturday and noting the mixture of the old historic architecture and the new building. There were plenty of options to eat or stop for a drink.

Lovely little town.
Lovely little town. We was just staying overnight for the Standon Calling Festival and it’s perfect location for anyone going to this. Just about 20 minutes in a taxi from the site. Lots of pubs and nice coffee shops for breakfast the next day. Nice quaint little town with plenty to do.

As we were arriving late and leaving before dawn for an early flight, our experience was limited but excellent nonetheless. Super room lovingly created in art deco style with some period features and good replica pieces where originals were unavailable. But the kitchen was worth the visit in itself. The owners have gone over and above in fitting out this extraordinary space where all your needs are catered for on a self-service basis. We chose the hotel for its proximity to Stansted airport but wish we could have stayed longer.
The hotel was beautiful with gorgeous decor and lovely grounds, which we enjoyed walking in with our dog. We particularly liked having a ground floor room opening on to a large grassy area where our dog could run around while we sat on the terrace outside our room - as shown in the attached picture.
I use the Jolly Brewers every time I have to fly early from Stansted Airport the next day. It's very convenient in terms of location and has everything you could need for an overnight stay. It's handy for the middle of Bishops Stortford too and I always get a good night's sleep there.
Very small room absolutely no one to look after, no attendant for any support, for example we were shocked to see no hot water in bath rooms, we had to chase customer care for 4 hours for hot water in bathrooms, that too was switched on for 1 hour only.
Hotel is in jungle
It is a wonderful little place to stay. It is very special with all the cars around that you can have a look at. Amazing to think the owners made all of it themselves. The breakfast area is so much fun! I wish I could have stayed longer.
The flat itself it’s spacious, good amenities, of course near public transport, town centre, shops, etc.
Communication with host was very good, we got some issue with the boiler in NY Eve, and we got very quick response and updates.
All of them! The apartment is beautiful, spacious, clean, and has all facilities that I needed. Perfect location, very close to the train station and town centre. Simon is very nice, friendly and helpful.
I got married here 5 years ago and can only say that this is not the same hotel from then. The rooms were the best part of this visit, clean and spacious. The rest of the hotel was a big disappointment
The room was very large. Which I loved however the floor I had was a top floor which for me it was too much to walk due to my bad feet.
It’s not the hotel’s fault, I should have mentioned this before.
+ Super clean and smelled great!
+ Spacious
+ All basic kitchen utensils are present
+ Nice, neutral interior
+ No loud neighbors
+ Hour drive from London City
The cottage guest house was a great base for us whilst in the area for a wedding. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly, we would definitely stay again.
