Initial reception and staff very good throughout our stay. Room and breakfast very good. Closeness to embankment and shops very good. Parking arrangements good. It was a great asset to be able to take our dog. The gluten free awareness and options were commendable

Ideal for all ages with plenty of choice of things to do - even fabulous beaches nearby. Great watching all the sailing activity on the dock with all the history close by

Wonderful little town.
Wonderful little town. Very picturesque and some nice hidden nooks and crannies. Enjoyed several river trips, visited Agatha Christies holiday home by boat which was lovely . Lovely chalet owner really lovely nothing too much trouble. Very cosy reasonable and close too Dartmouth town swimming pool close by aswell as supermarkets. Woodlands theme park 10 minute drive. Lots of nice restaurants in Dartmouth town. We went for 3 nights everyone didn't want to go home at the end of our stay so just book you won't be dissapointed.

Being February it wasn't beach weather and we only did a two...
Being February it wasn't beach weather and we only did a two night mid-week trip. We visited the charming local museum and strolled around the narrow streets and local shops. Dartmouth is built on two sides of a valley but if you don't like walking up hill there is a regular bus to take you around town. We took advice and booked restaurants ahead. The Royal Castle Hotel offers a really good menu in a pub setting where the food and service were excellent. We also ate at the Embankment where the menu is not so traditional but the food was excellent. We took a boat trip with a very entertaining and informative commentary. Sadly the steam train from Kingswear wasn't running mid-week out of season but we drove to Buckfast Abbey which is well worth a visit. Finally we lunched at Rockfish, majoring in fish of course, another excellent meal to set us up for the drive home.LLindaUnited Kingdom

We had the College View room which was small and the bed also but did not spoil our stay .. the two other rooms have estuary views and more space so we would request them on our return .. We didn’t do breakfast and undoubtedly missed a treat along with mixing with the other guest diners .. do give it a go .. you are very likely to love it .. as did we ..

Access to the property is easy via a small footpath from the nearby on-site car-parking (about 150 metres). The site is served by a regular bus service (Stagecoach 92) between Dartmouth and Totnes (every two hours except on Sundays when the service is severely limited) but the service ends rather early in the evening. Access by car is very easy and there is plenty of free on-site parking.

It was warm and cosy, and the balcony was a perfect place to sit when the sun was out. Close to the river and all bars and restaurants, we didn't use the car once during our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this great find to friends and relatives. We will definitely be back.

We wanted to visit DARTMOUTH and as the hotel is situated only 4 miles away so we drove to the very handy park and ride. We had a evening meal at the hotel, which was a small menu, but the food was good.
