Nusa Penida is hard enough to get to by the time you buy boat tickets, get to the harbour, wait around, board a small hot fast boat and getting off the other end you need a driver to collect you as its busy, dusty and hot. You want to get off that boat and into an air-conditioned car straight away and be taken to your hotel. The island is beautiful; however, you will need a scooter, a car or driver. Its isolated and unless you love walking in the heat long distances you will need transport to see the sights. The night life is quiet, I think it's an island of relaxing and day adventures with not a lot of activity at night from what i saw.MitchellAustralia - 10Scored 10

We rented a driver for 2 days and he took us to the tourist spots. The road is very small and curvy but our driver was good. The views were amazing. Not really developed yet but moving quickly. Stayed at edge of a village so saw real village life barely touched by tourism. Would have liked some independent restaurants. Need to drive to get around. Take plenty of cash as atm far and few. Beautiful island well worth a visit for a short stay.

He offered to drive us around a lot to restaurants, the harbor etc. He also helped us book trips on the island which was great because it was just so handy to have help and the price was the same or cheaper compared to tour/trip offers we saw. The swimming pool was a nice way to relax and cool down after our adventures, the room was spacious, the AC cold and we liked the location a lot, the garden is beautiful!

Transport around the island is a bit harder than mainland Bali but The Project has a WhatsApp group you can join on arrival that will help with all your transport needs. The beds were very comfy, clean facilities and YUMMY coffee. Highly recommend 🙏🏼

There are several hotels/bungalows nearby so you can eat at the different restaurants nearby. You can also use the other pools (at the hotels) if you ask. I did this a few times. The restaurants all have fresh juices and good Indonesian food with some western options. The breakfast and coffee was wonderful and you can buy water or sodas. Host and staff are very nice and very helpful. Arranged island trip for us, jetty-hotel-jetty pick up and booked tickets to Gili during our island tour. PutU the host, gladly drove us to nice beach club for dinner. Just be aware that property located up the hill, few minutes driving from one of harbors. The best ice tea :-)
