It was easy to walk around in the area I stayed in. It’s a tourist area so walk a bit outside of Main Street to avoid tourist traps. Had both lunch and dinner at varous places. Good prices and good quality and presentation. My favourite spot was to see the blue mosque. It’s well worth a visit. Lots of tourist there but that’s how it is. I’d avoid the Hop on Hop off bus. Very expensive and not worth the money. Then the ferries are a much better and cheaper way to see Istanbul. All in all I’d love to visit again. Other than being very disappointed with our accomodation, everything else in Istanbul was amazing. We bought a Istanbulkart which we used on trams ferries buses and the Metro. Buy the red card from machines near tram stops for 70 TL. plus what ever amount you want. Easy to top up. All major sites like the mosques and museums were fantastic. Don’t miss a visit to the cistern. Spend time wondering the dozens of different neighbourhoods. However due to 56% be prepared to pay much more for everything. Prices similar to Melbourne prices.

Everyone was very kind and helpful and I totally recommend this place! We will be back for sure.
