At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laidback Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s arty South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just opposite is the towering skyline of Brisbane's CBD, where many hotels in Brisbane city centre are located.
Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. More shopping centres are found all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.
This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south you can hug one of the loveable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.
Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks – Wickham Park – contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the north-east, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.
As well as central accommodation, Booking.com also offers hotels near Brisbane Airport in a north-eastern coastal suburb.

Lots to see and do for everyone.
Lots to see and do for everyone. Weather was fantastic and if you have a car you can explore far and wide. If you have no car, walking or public transportation will get you to most places.
I can highly recommend:
Southbank - beautiful space for everyone to enjoy. Playgrounds for children, spaces to eat, exercise, relax or just enjoy the view.
Northshore Eat City - fantastic atmosphere, exceptional variety of food, drink and live entertainment. great to see so many families enjoying this space.
Mount Tambourine - gallery walk is worth the drive, as is the scenery.
The tree walk at Mt Tambourine was very relaxing and such a beautiful area.
The outback spectacular is a must see, the food alone was exceptional, but coupled with the show - it is well worth it.
Australia Zoo is another must see attraction, it is an immense area that takes a full day to enjoy - take your walking shoes, waterbottle and hat. The animals are well cared for in beautifully constructed areas, with, staff that are approachable, knowledgeable and well trained to care for the animals.
Suncorp Stadium is another place that is well worth a view, especially if you are interested in event that is happening.

Brisbane is a bustling city, with lots of options to entertain yourself.
We did use public transport to broaden our view of the city and was pleasantly surprised how clean the city and its amenities were. The entertainment precinct was great, and lots of entertainment on offer.
The ferry trip with the Citycat was an excellent way to see the town centre from start to finish, and well recommended.
The park next to Queensland University was excellent, and great amount of history with the government house, and awesome bridge back towards South Bank and several museums.
For quiet drinks and great food, Fish Lane with outdoor bar, and excellent Julius Italian restaurant.

Hired a vehicle from Crazy Clarkes highly recommend them cheapest car hire. They are 10 Mins from airport and will come and collect you at the airport and drop you back of when you drop vehicle back to them. I hired a swift for 10 days and cost $238.00. Will use them again. Dont forget to visit the DFO close to airport for some great bargins and TJ Max across the road from DFO.
Meriton offer clean and well appointed self contained apartments with - I think everything that folk need for a comfortable stay - albeit highly priced when you compare to a normal hotel room that usually offer breakfast as part of price,Meriton don't but do offer your normal home type features to do it yourself. This makes Meriton more expensive to hotels in some respects. But given that all hotels become highway robbers by lifting prices beyond reasonable whenever a major event hits their town always annoys.
Small hotel on Kangaroo Point, across the river from Brisbane's CBD (downtown). We had a nice 2-night stay. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Spacious room with full size fridge and cooking facilities. Chris at the front desk is very helpful. We recommend taking the short 2-3 minute walk eastward (turn right as you leave the hotel, then left at the river) to Medley Cafe for a lovely breakfast; the cafe is set amongst trees and overlooks the river.
I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting it to be rundown. Although it was on a busy road, it was relatively quiet (I did take earplugs) and it looks like the rooms have been updated. It was very comfortable and perfect for my stay. It is very close to the city and the walk to Southbank was under 30 minutes. The Sportsman Hotel (Brisbane's home of drag) is a couple of doors up and was so much fun.
This place is the perfect location to explore around Brisbane having southbank up the road which takes 5mins on a E-scooter & the CBD across the storey bridge. The apartments are close to most events being held in Brisbane areas as well which works out perfectly.
Coles, Tavern & other retail stores all downstairs at your convenience with 2 options of pools & gyms within the premises.
Everything, we had one bed apartment in this old listed bldg, perfect location right in the middle of the
Brisbane cbd , easy to get to the bus station, woolworths just around the corner, just a short walk to the Southbank for museums and galleries, nearby to Fortitide Valley. Excellent restaurant downstairs. Would definitely stay again highly recommended.
The hotel is in a perfect location for getting around Brisbane on foot - and close to the free ferry and free city bus. The room was comfortable and clean, the pool area was very nice. The staff were great. My only issue was that we had a couple of errors over booking in breakfast and then being overcharged, which was quickly corrected
Check-in was seamless and all the staff were genuinely happy, helpful and friendly. The location is the best in Brisbane for Southbank and car parking easily taken care of by the hotel valet service. Room was spacious, with latest tech fit out. Breakfast was wonderful with a good selection of eats with table service among the best.
Great hotel in the heart of Kangaroo point with a lovely outlook from the city to the airport
Free parking is always a bonus in the CBD
Check/check out seamless
Good sized room for the evening
Cant really comment on facilities but staff were always polite.
Ferry within walking distance, and nice walks /cafes around area
Location was excellent - easy 10 minute walk to the city, but just on the outskirts that you wouldn't get the noise and bustle of the CBD. Across the road from The Barracks, and cute little restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is very luxe with mood lighting and an incredibly comfortable bed. Staff were also super helpful!
This accommodation is perfect if you want to walk the city of Brisbane. You have easy access to the river, the botanical garden, Southbank and the CBD. You can walk as far as you want, and use city cats to go even further. A comfortable if older hotel, but the staff are friendly and professional and the facilities are good.
Clean room and friendly staff.
Bed and linen were much more comfortable than other hostels with similar price.
Kind of convenient to everywhere - 15-20 mins to Brisbane CBD and Westend.
Key card to access room.
Large size of personal locker in the room, but no lock on it.
The Milton is in an ideal location- above a train station with easy access to the CBD, the river and other parts of Brisbane.
The apartment itself is excellent- comfortable and well appointed, with an excellent kitchen which is better equipped than other serviced apartments.
Very good location in Brisbane CBD. Hotel is near one of the best food courts I have seen, supermarket (Coles) and restaurants. Hotel décor is modern, but simple. Staff are nice and helpful. They respond immediately, if you report a problem. The breakfast buffet is nice
The house is in a great location - only a few minutes from the CBD and easy access to arterial roads around Brisbane. We walked into Southbank one evening for a swim and feed - supermarket and foods options are only a short distance. The house is tidy and comfortable.
Location was great in the CBD but not right in the hustle of the mall. Easy walk access to Mall, Southbank, sights, food option & shops.
Hotel restaurant is real quality with amazing food, wood fired pizza and the best coffee in Brisbane.
Great location - easy walk to Southbank and Brisbane CBD. Staff all very friendly and efficient. Rooms always clean and comfortable. Restaurant staff Carlos & Jo extremely helpful and professional.
Very cool & modern hotel in the CBD overlooking the river and Southbank. Great attention to detail in room fitout. Certainly more interesting & fun than its muted contemporaries. Highly recommend.
The staff (and the cleaners) were really lovely & the bathroom was newly renovated. It was the cheapest CBD Hotel in Brisbane that weekend so you have to keep that in mind.
