Betws-y-coed is a renowned and often-visited location in Snowdonia, perfectly suited for famililies and countryside trekkers alike. Some of the restaurants and hotels may be expensive, but that is a reflection of the location's notoriety. There are, however, budget options for dining and accomodation. Betws-y-coed is well-placed for those who are visiting Snowdonia for hiking, for climbing, or for exploration of the dramatic mountainous countryside. We noticed that a great many other holiday-makers had brought their dogs as well as their children, we therefore assume that a good number of hotels in the area are dog-friendly. Betws-y-coed nightlife consists mainly of alfresco dining and drinking with banter between friends - that is the general impression we have of the nightime atmosphere. We have stayed in Betws-y-coed on three previous ocassions and will do so again.

This area is amazing with plenty of walks and activities to do with little travelling to do, to get anywhere. People are friendly. Good eating places There are loads of water falls in walking distance if that's what you like. The Velocity zip wire is amazing, highly recommended. Snowdon mountain is definitely worth doing.

Betws-y-coed is a really nice place and makes you feel like you really are on holiday. The views are stunning and have a real European feel. The place gets really busy so getting an evening meal can be tricky. Food and drinks are expensive, they are more than London prices. Compared to other places in North wales, Betws-y-coed is head and shoulders above them.

Beautiful scenery and great for walking.

Beautiful scenery and great for walking. Accessed by road and rail, its central location is ideal for visits to Bodnant Gardens and Snowdonia. Relatively easy for keen walkers to reach Fairy Glen and Conwy Falls, as well as Swallow Falls and the Ugly House.. Characterised by substantial stone properties and its riverside location, this is a charming place which can get very busy with hikers and sightseers. It's only a small town, but there are a variety of shops and places to eat - from small cafes to hotel restaurants to suit all pockets, but quality varies. Excellent food is available in the Royal Oak Hotel restaurant. Golfers are welcome at the flat 9 hole course which has excellent greens and is well maintained.

The room was exceptional for the price, and in an established building of a well known Welsh village. The bed was really comfy, and good bedding. Excellent availability of tea and coffee supplies for the room, easily available outside the room. Particularly loved the key safe option for the room key and front door outside the main door. Communication online was excellent. Particularly loved the lack of noise, which I know I would have suffered in bigger accommodation nearby, due to lads on weekend hols.

Hotel location very close to the village centre with church nearby (nice to hear the bells). breakfast was very nice served in the room itself caused by covid restrictions, room was clean with hair-dryer, kettle and plenty of tea/coffee supply. Julie & Tony were really accommodating - prepared a take-away breakfast for us to have on our trip to the top of Snowdon. Really loved the whole area around the hotel and had a great time. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you very much for everything

Room was fine if you are not disabled. Bathroom was well set out. I needed a disability room, non-available. On arriving my husband was told as i had asked for a disability room, he was told there was one empty but would cost £177.00 that being in a superior lodge. It is disgraceful to think that they could charge that amount for a disability person. That is discrimination. I had paid £135 for the standard lodge. So if anyone disabled wants to go to this hotel, I would think twice

We had a health problem and the owner changed the dates for us without charging extra with absolutely no hassle . The hotel is just a short walk from the town/village Center and was very warm , this is a good walkers hotel. It is not 5 star but very decent for the money so we were happy . Well priced for the area and access to walking routes and transport . The hotel is in a quiet place but at the same time on a main road. The owner is nice and breakfast decent .

I liked how friendly the staff were. I liked how clean and comfortable the rooms were. I loved the views and the location beside the river and that we were able to take a walk nearby. We had breakfast both mornings of our stay and took dinner one night. The food was excellent, dinner especially so. The people we met locally when we walked to the nearest pub were very friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel and area.

The hotel was in a fantastic location, our room faced out to a busy road but was comfy enough. The hotel just looked tired not seen an update for a number of years by the looks of the decor. I’d like to say it added charm but no. If you’ve a big vehicle you may struggle to get to the car park at the back it’s a squeeze. All in all great location scruffy outdoor seating area and in need of an update. Dog friendly throughout. Staff were pleasant enough

The location was excellent. We were planning to climb Snowdon and so needed somewhere nearby. This was about 20 minutes away. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. Sean was a wonderful host. Extremely knowledgeable about the area and all it had to offer, was lighthearted, professional and friendly. It was obvious that he cared deeply about our experience staying at Glyntwrog House.

Stayed in a lodge room. Very cosy and warm and felt more private than a hotel room. Location was easy walking distance to local area which is beautiful. Went to local pub The Pont-y-Pair which was really welcoming and friendly, great food and much more reasonably priced than other places. Breakfast was OK. Pool area was nice but busy. All staff were great, really friendly and helpful.

The room and bed was comfortable, and there is plenty of space in the facility. For a hostel, the room had more hotel like facilities with tea and coffee etc. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with plenty on offer. Its a good start to the day. Also the dining area is spacious There are some really comfortable chairs which you can relax in after a long day

This hotel is surrounded by rolling hills and yet is approximately 7- 10 minutes walk to the centre of betws y coed. The Ty Gwyn restaurant is a short walk away and serves the best food I’ve had and at a reasonable price. (Mains dishes from £12 -£20 and reasonably priced beer.) The bed was a good size, firm but very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and superb hosts.
