The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. My father & I voted this the number 1 property we stayed at for our entire UK trip. The rooms were beyond expectation. Big, clean & comfortable. The staff were beyond helpful. One even helped us push our car out of the carpark after a snow storm! They were super friendly. The location was also brilliant.

Room is comfortable for family stay. Only few minutes walk to grocery stores and the pier. With only 5-minutes walk up the hill, there is a great view of lake Windermere.

Jerichos is a contemporary family-run guest house with stylish decor situated on a quiet side street in the heart of Windermere village. There is free Wi-Fi and free ample private parking. Beautiful and cosy family run place. Friendly and helpful owners, easy to communicate with. The room had all you need. What I really liked, that there were different types of herbal teas, which is quite rare in hotels!

Just 1 mile from Lake Windermere this beautiful Victorian house is set in a peaceful location between Windermere and Bowness. Rooms were small, but very clean and comfortable. The staff and the breakfast were both excellent.

Craig Walk Suite is set in Bowness-on-Windermere, 38 km from Derwentwater, 43 km from Askham Hall, as well as 50 km from Trough of Bowland. This property is absolutely beautiful you can tell a lot of hard work and money has gone in to it

The Old Rectory features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Coniston, 18 km from Lake Windermere. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. Lovely little touches that made the difference. Delicious breakfast. Really close to Coniston with lots of restaurants, bars and shops.
