The 5-star ryokan features garden views and is 1.1 km from Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Shoren-in Temple is 1.1 km from the ryokan and Sanjusangen-do Temple is 1.9 km away. If you want to feel old Japan, I recommend staying at this ryokan Ishibekoji Muan, along with old Kyoto you will be thrown into the past, into the books and movies you have read and watched about Japan in past centuries. The service is perfect. On a quiet street but at the same time close to all sights. Extremely comfortable, luxurious and cozy ryokan.

With inner courtyard views, this accommodation offers a patio. The ryokan has family rooms. Great location away from the crowds but a very short distance away from pretty much all the hot spots. It’s generally pretty rare to find a place with this much space in a major city in Japan for what is honestly a steal of a price. The host went far and beyond what I expected and honestly did a better job helping our group plan activities and restaurants than many hotel concierges I have dealt with.
