everything was spot on. Best place we have ever booked a room. Spectacular is the word for anything you can think of. House, neighbourhood, wifi, cleanliness, breakfast and staff are 20 out of 10. Special thanks to the owner who made everything possible so that our stay is the best.

Vicky was super friendly and accommodating. She even agreed to take us to the airport at the end of our stay because her usual driver and backup were out of town. The room was perfect for our needs. There were thousands of flamingos in the lagoon and several other shorebirds. We enjoyed our stay here.

As my wife and I were waiting to clear immigration in Walvis Bay, Namibia, to get off a cruise ship as we were both very sick and needed medical attention, we booked The Rez Guesthouse for two nights. They accommodated our early check in request, and as we were checking in a few short hours later, Malani, the proprietor, looked at my wife and said: You are not looking well. Do you want to see a doctor? - YESSSS! Within an hour, Malani arranged free transportation to see a private doctor. After examination, the doctor said my wife had to go to the hospital immediately as her lung capacity was dangerously low. Within an hour, my wife was admitted to the only private hospital in Walvis Bay. What does it all have to do with The Rez? A LOT! Malani went above and beyond what was expected of her. When you go on vacation, you don’t expect anything bad to happen. As we learned, it might. Malani literally saved us. And The Rez? Did I mention the nice location in an upscale residential neighborhood only 500 meters away from the waterfront, nice tasteful décor, a cozy courtyard, spacious rooms, upgraded bathrooms, great breakfast (try Ellen’s omelet), and referrals to carefully selected local vendors.

Both bedrooms look right onto the lagoon, and we could watch pelicans and flamingos from bed! That was a highlight. The apartment is also very comfortable and nicely decorated. It's quiet and peaceful, and because the host lives on site its very simple to get the key and ask any questions.

Esmé and Brandon were the perfect hosts. Esmé was always the friendliest and extremely helpful. It was always a pleasure to speak to her about Walvis Bay, the surroundings, restaurants, et cetera. The flat was, as stated, perfectly clean and up-to-date, and in a very safe and quiet neighbourhood near the beachfront. My daughter and myself did not need to rent an automobile as the long- and short walks would get us everywhere. The television has Netflix, and so many more options. Our 6-night stay was wonderful. We took cabs to Swakopmund, and one time we took the local Taxi that took us through the Walvis Bay townships. That was extremely safe and informative. I would highly recommend staying at Desert Pearl Self-Catering. I will stay there on my next trip/holiday to Namibia. The regular price of ZAR/$ND is 300 from the airport to Desert Pearl. Walvis Bay and Swakopmund are two beautiful cities and very safe as being women on our own. The Namibians are a most helpful and welcoming people. We enjoyed our stay immensely at Desert Pearl Self-Catering.

Huge appartement on 2 floors with 3 double rooms in front of the ocean. Private garage with gate and security system. Washing machine was very useful. Very nice staff on arrival who showed us around the pear and restaurants. They organised us the most beautiful day trip for my daughter’s birthday. Seadrive to see the seals and dauphins with a VIP BBQ on the island and sandwich harbour with dune drive! It was amazing.

The self catering unit was beautiful and unique with its own architectural style. It was very convenient to be able to walk into the unit straight form the garage. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were super comfortable. A bonus was that the lagoon was withing walking distance. This was a perfect stay for a weekend.
