We loved staying here. You get to enjoy one of the nicest beaches in the world (just a 5 minute walk away) at an incredible value. The room was simple but very comfortable and clean. The owner was very friendly and quickly responsive when we had a problem with the toilet. She gave great local recommendations too. The on site breakfast was delicious—including fresh fruit, juice, eggs, and pastries. Would recommend my family and friends to stay here if they visit Zanzibar!

We loved our stay in Kendwa Carletto Style. The bungalow was clean and spacious with a nice patio for relaxing with a book. The staff are really helpful and added little details to make our stay extra special. It was nice to get a feel for the locality on the short walk to the beach. At low tide you can walk over and back between Kendwa and Nungwi. If the tide comes in you can take a short taxi ride or water taxi. There is a really nice Italian restaurant with delicious cocktails on Nungwi beach. Can't remember the name but it's up some wooden steps, right beside the Mama Mia ice cream parlour(not the one at Kendwa Rocks)

Mustafa was a great host who were always willing to help. Great location to the beach with beautiful sunset and great for swimming.

Amazing staff. Amazing breakfast. Great location. They really take care of you. We ended up adopting a kitten from the area, and the folks here were super helpful and supportive, including taking us to a pet store. Felt like a second family. :-)

This is a family run business at the south of Kendwa beach. Becca and his sisters have set up a wonderful facility. They are very close of the village so I enjoyed both the local and "tourist" perspectives.

The hotel is right at the beach, it's a basic hotel but perfect for the value you pay. What I would highlight is the friendliness of the staff.. Incredible .. I travel a lot for work staying at luxury hotels all the time, and sometimes did not have the attention I had in this hotel. Everyone knew my name without me telling them. I also felt that the hotel is safe even at the beach.

The pineapple house was my home far away from home for over a month. The owner is such a nice person who was always ready to help. I felt very comfortable and left with a heavy heart at the end. The breakfast was great, fresh fruit every day, freshly squeezed juice and I even got some special gluten-free breakfast - and that's not so easy on the island. I can warmly recommend the pineapple house as the staff is super friendly, the rooms are nice and it’s close to the beach.
