Breakfast was always great and it was served at my room every morning on time. Even though the location is not a beachfront,the beach is only a five minute walk and the location is very secure.we would go for walks to the beach at any time of the night. If you are looking for a pocket friendly and convenient place to stay,this is yourbest bet.

The apartment was exactly as described, very nicely furnished, very clean and lovely. We were staying in the penthouse with amazing views on the city. We were two travelling friends and we were happy that the bed was large enough for us both without bumping into each other. WiFi was good and strong. There was safe onsite. Location was great, close to Freddy Mercury house and right at the Stone city, shops and restaurants. Breakfast had very large variety and the gentleman making eggs was really fun, unfortunately didnt catch the name, but he was really amazing. Room has AC that works well.

A nice quiet place on the wild coast for a peaceful rest. Nice responsive staff especially Patrick. Nice cozy house for living. The bathroom has only hard soap, no shower gel and shampoo. Romantic place. Within walking distance is a local fishing village with a small port, banana plantation, palm forest. Some fishermen looked like pirates in movies :) We did not hear any noise from the port in the house/room. You can swim during high tide. The beach is rocky. The food was good. The owner Jamal is responsive - helped with trips to Stone town, Jozani forest, Kendwa and Nungvi beach, brought durian. You can safely ask for anything you want. Beautiful sunsets. It was the most unusual birthday of my life. Thanks to Jamal, Patrik, Malik - for the birthday party, the birthday song and everything!

It's an amazing house, that has been wonderfully restored and maintained. The garden, in particular, is spectacular. Szilvia has done a brilliant job and is a fantastic host. Highly recommended

Excellent location. Massive space and huge covered verandah with the best sea views. Disregard any negative comments about this place. It’s simply the best value in Stonetown. Highly recommended.

Balcony House is a wonderful place with wonderful people. The rooms rate from very simple up to A/C and ocean view so there will be something for everyone whether or not you’re travelling by yourself or in companionship. The owners are from Kopenhagen and Zanzibar which is the perfect style mix in interior. It has everything you need, is kept simple and open, but still welcoming and cosy. Especially the common spaces such as kitchen, terraces and the balcony are truly wonderful with lots of in and outside facilities to hang out and relax. It is very clean, the communication with the owners extremely reliable and quick even from afar, and it is in a perfect location with walking distance to everything in stone town including the ferry station. I would always come back and enjoyed my time a lot.

I stayed for two days and had an incredible time. A week before my suitcase got lost and I had a lot of help from Nadia, one of the girls working at the reception. Nadia also helped me to find a good tour and to have a better experience in Zanzibar. I am super grateful to her and to Zava House for making my experience beautiful and unforgettable. I have never stayed in a place with such nice people. The place is super well located and the rooms are big, cool and comfortable. I hope to come back soon!
