You will need to drive (or public transit) to Locarno, but is close to the centre of Ascona and there are groceries a short drive away and easy access to other routes. The apartment was very clean and everything looks new. Our family of five was very comfortable there. We recommend!

They preapared an amazing breakfast for us, after which we talked to the owner for more than 30 minutes and he was so nice and offered good advice for our trip.
