JamboHouse Lamu is set in Lamu, 400 metres from Gallery Baraka, 500 metres from Lamu Museum, and 500 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum. The highlight of our stat in Jambo House is Arnold, its owner. He is doing a great job, responds quickly, provides airport pickup, shares a map with all the useful tips and nice places to eat and is at your service if you need to book any kind of trip around Lamu. Furthermore, the breakfast here are lovely and for a bargain price, so definitely don't miss out on them ! In the room, we had all we needed, and it was very quiet, so we slept very well! We will be back!

Situated within 500 metres of Manda Beach and 500 metres of Shela Beach in Lamu, Jua House provides accommodation with seating area. Shela is amazing all around, but I know that starting my journey at the Jua House was a major contributor to make this one of the most special travel experiences in my life. Jua is more than a hotel, it’s a point for travelers to meet and make friends. I met wonderful people here who became my Jua family and will be with me for life. the rooms are beautifully decorated, spotless clean, common spaces are awe inspiring, the breakfast is delicious, and above all, the staff is beyond kind. Eddy baked delicious fresh bread every day, Chai always welcomed me with a warm smile, and Amani became a brother that I can’t wait to see again. Jua is a paradise within a paradise.

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. Beautiful, historic building with genuine efforts to be ecologically sustainable eg no plastics etc Outstandingly friendly and helpful hosts and staff. Really well-prepared and sourced organic food eg home-made breads, jams, yogurt etc, often from their own permaculture "samba".

Umma House has a terrace and is situated in Lamu, within just 300 metres of Lamu Museum and 500 metres of Lamu Fort. Guests staying at this villa have access to a balcony. The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, sea view and a terrace, Makubwa House is situated in Lamu. amazing Swahili house over 3 floors. comfortable for 5/6 people in 3 rooms with more beds in open areas. absolutely stunning place could have spent longer there. we organised for the chef to buy some groceries and cook us breakfast which worked really well.

Set 300 metres from Lamu Fort, Beytsalam offers accommodation with a shared lounge, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. Complimentary WiFi is offered. Breakfast was really nice, with a choice between Swahili and English style and it was served on the cozy rooftop terrace with views of the sea. I was lucky to be upgraded to their spacious and well-appointed "executive" suite on the third floor. Omar and Lilian were great to deal with at breakfast and with laundry etc., I appreciated the help they provided in many ways and look forward to coming again.

Offering a terrace and quiet street view, Wildebeeste Lamu is situated in Lamu, 300 metres from Lamu Fort and 400 metres from Gallery Baraka. Wildebeeste House was amazing looking and there are options for views. Also close to Everything!

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is always available and welcoming. We have access to a wide range of activities and the hotel is well located, in the center of Shilla and a few minutes by walk from the beach.

Set within 100 metres of Lamu Museum and 200 metres of Lamu Fort in Lamu, Swahili Dreams Apartments offers accommodation with a kitchen. The design in this property is amazing, beautiful. The indoor pool is exquisite. The staff was excellent and the apartments large and comfortable.
