Lækjaborgir Guesthouse is located in Kálfafell, 26 km east of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Free WiFi is offered throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. From the moment we stepped into the house, it was obvious that the owner had put allot of effort and love into making this place. You could tell that, by the warm decoration of the room and cosy feel, the brand new furniture, the smell of cleanliness, the well washed dishes and silverware, the well stocked kitchenette with coffee, cooking oil, salt and pepper, etc, the abundance of clean towels, the assortment of board games, and so on. This is one of those places were you wish you would get stranded because of weather or whatever, so that you have an excuse to stay there for a week and just relax and enjoy life.

Hvammból Guesthouse is close to Vik and at the perfect location to view the northern lights from as it is far from light polution. We saw them on our first night there! The studio was comfortable and had everything described! Highly recommended and we would gladly return!

Einar and Ragga took the time to show us their sheep and horses. Their three dogs are so cute and friendly. We spent the evening playing with them while watching the sunset.

Such a lovely place to stay! Check-in and check-out was super easy. Communication with our really friendly host always quick and helpful. The apartment is cute and has all you need for two: Well-stocked kitchenette, super clean and modern bathroom, a giant TV (even though we never switched it on), and the place has its own private hot tub in the backyard! The location is perfect as it's just around the corner from Selfoss' central roundabout, so you'll find it easily and have a great base for exploring Iceland's beautiful southside. Also, you can drive to Reykjavík in just about one hour.
