The town is very cute and the house is just incredible. It had everything a person could ask for in an accommodation. Everything works perfectly. The design is very beautiful. The house is even more beautiful in real life. I will never forget it. I think I told Assi how much I loved it too many times :) Assi was the most helpful host, he was very friendly, curious to know about my trip, he even picked me up from the station when I unfortunately missed the train. And dropped me off to the bus stop when I wanted to visit the near village. I hope to visit it again in future. Thank you again, thank you very much.

This was probably our favourite overnight stay of our entire trip. The hosts were lovely, the food was fantastic, the room and beds were incredibly comfortable. If we could have we would have happily stayed longer. We have no doubt that we intend to go back in the future.

The location is perfect, the staff very helpful and booked an amazing dinner for us.

Lively pets around, which was a welcomed change :) A 30 min walk from Gifu JR, hosts happily dropped us to the station at checkout. I believe you can organise pick up and drop off with the host. Regardless, a 30 min walk on flat ground is completely possible and should not deter anyone. However there is a local line which is 13 min walk from the house.

The property also provides free pick-up service from JR Takayama Station. Perfect! Tai and his family were really kind and considerate. SOY IS OUTSTANDING. We spent wonderful stay in SOY. We miss TAMA, too.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. Amazing place in the middle of nature, with great dining and friendly hospitality. Totally refreshing and highly recommended!

Guests at Guesthouse Tomaru can experience Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor in the private rooms. Dormitory rooms have futon bedding as well; bottom bunks sit directly on the tatami flooring, and top bunks use a wooden bunk bed frame. Very good experience good place to visit people are very nice
