Guesthouse Gifu SUAI er staðsett í Gifu, 29 km frá Nagoya-kastalanum og 30 km frá Nagoya-stöðinni. Boðið er upp á garð og útsýni yfir innri húsgarðinn. The location is a little far away from the main JR station/ meitetsu station but there are so many public transport lines all around the area. The host was also very kind to offer a pick up and drop off service when I arrived and when I left. The hosts were very kind, warm, and welcoming. Their animals were all very cute, especially the dog. The dorm room is only shared with another person and there is a large common area in the room as well as lockers with locks if needed. There is also a living room area and a fully equiped kitchen. The showers and toilets were all spotlessly clean and the water pressure and temperature was perfect. I highly recommend this guesthouse and will stay again if I visit again!

Tai and family are the best hosts in Takayama and possibly the whole of Japan! You will not find another place like SOY with a comparable level of hospitality. Other than the complimentary shuttle to and from the train station, Tai and his family went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and we were well-taken care of. SOY was a quaint and charming guesthouse, with great views (especially in winter), and a ton of space for a large family - which we were. The entire place was very well furnished, and had amenities that were great for hanging out - like a movie room. Food at SOY is prepared with a lot of love and attention to detail, super tasty, and amazing. Tai would even help us call tour operators and restaurants to help us make reservations because some places only take reservations over phone and speak only Japanese.

Auberge Hidanomori var opnað aftur eftir endurbætur árið 2022 en það er staðsett í kyrrlátum hæðum, í 10 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá JR Takayama-stöðinni. Exceptional - the location is stunning, the owners so warm and friendly, the dinner was truly an experience - the paired wines really elevated the experience. The decor has been carefully thought out. The onsen was really enjoyable. Probably one of the best meals/experiences I have had. The owners and staff deserve real credit for how much attention to detail, creativity, love and perfection they have put into this place. 10/10 experience, we hope to come back!!!

A 6-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station, 力車イン Rickshaw inn offers non-smoking Japanese rooms and Western rooms with free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and a private bathroom. A free-use kitchen is on site. Absolutely lovely and helpful host. He gave us many tips so as to see the best of Takayama at the few hours we had. Wish we had more time at this beautiful town. Nice lobby with coffee/ tea available and books 🩷

Situated in Nakatsugawa and only 20 km from Ōi, 馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The host was super friendly and very helpful, even when we had some additional requests. Thanks so much for all the help! The rooms were veeery spacious (converted classrooms). The shared toilet & shower facilities were also very clean and nice—overall the building interior felt very new.
