My decision to visit Tangkoko national Park and stay at Tangkoko ranger homestay was one of my best moves in my 4 weeks in Indonesia. I had a few days between scuba dives and wanted to see more of Sulawesi and ended up checking out Tangkoko. I had an amazing time and it was all due to Alfrets. The homestay is comfortable and the ac is great, but the real treasure is having Alfrets be your guide for birdwatching, jungle treks, etc. He is an excellent birder, knows the Park extremely well, and has a fabulous knowledge of the wildlife there. As a wildlife biologist myself, I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and professional behavior. I simply don't think anyone could do a better job guiding you than Alfrets and I highly recommend booking both his homestay and his services as a guide in this lovely national park.

the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. i left my water bottle at the lobby and they were very kind and offered to send it to where i am right now. one of very few decent places to stay in bitung, and it's not bad at all for that price range.

Highly recommended place to stay. It is actually called Tangkoko guesthouse. The tangkoko safety shop is a place on the beach which serves delicious lunches and dinners and their guides for the jungle trip are the best: Renny and Lea. Tangkoko guesthouse works closely together with Renny 's safety shop. Pacha, the owner, of tangkoko guesthouse is very helpful and friendly. Pacha arranged a 'mobile taxi' for 30.000 rp per person to Bitung area from where you can get a grab or indrive ride to your next destination. The rooms are big, hot shower(!!!), great breakfast with omelet to set you off for your morning jungle trip. Great view from my balcony, room on the first floor, of the part.watching the birds flying. Good WiFi.
