Beautiful swimming pool and Javanese bungalows, Bobby is so funny and do his best to make you feel relaxed and at home. We did a night before Borobudur near the temple itself to avoid a day of 'tours' and travelling to see the temple, and it was a great decision because of our stay at Efata. Pre-stay communication was very useful as we would have otherwise not known we would have to pre-book tickets. On arrival, the family were incredibly kind and hospitable with lots of recommendations about what to do. Good room and great value for money. Super tasty breakfast too. Overall, a fantastic stay with a lovely local family. Cannot recommend enough!

This has exceeded our expectations in many ways. The main highlight is the tranquility of the place and it’s location off the beaten track in Borobudur. Still close to everything you came there for - to the temple (5min ride on a bicycle), the Main Street with restaurants (2mins), the fields overlooking the temple (1min). They rent bicycles for free, let you use the smimming pool anytime plus the food they serve is one of the best we had in Indonesia - simple but innovative and delicious! The whole property is very well maintained and we really appreciated the minimalist design of the room. Also the garden is carefully designed to make you feel relaxed. We honestly don’t get the low price for such a gem and have to say it’s amongst the best stays we’ve ever had so far, if not the best at all (and we’ve travelled a lot). If you prefer a place with spirit and quality over quantity, this is definitely your choice. :)

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Vegetarian breakfast was prepared and served hot at my room, exceeding my expectations in taste and choice of ingredients. The landscape, garden, traditional wooden buildings, and the stunning view of sunrise and sunset, all set against the backdrop of misty mountains, left me in awe. The wooden furniture and the papaya plantation in the backyard added to the charm. The friendly staff was incredibly helpful and responsive, providing a stand fan, hair dryer, and iron promptly upon request. They also went above and beyond in assisting with my travel plans to visit nearby temples (candi). The convenience of walking to grocery shops and the Borobudur temple was a plus. Additionally, the reliable WIFI made arranging routes and grabbing a car on hot afternoons a breeze. What I truly loved was the opportunity to pick flowers from the garden and arrange them on my breakfast table on the patio. My stay at Balkondes Majasingi Jasamarga was truly a delightful experience, allowing me to enjoy nature, explore ancient temples, and bask in the kind hospitality of their ever-smiling and caring staffs.
