The view. The cleanliness. The value for money. The staff. Almost everything. I stayed there for 2 weeks last February. I liked the hotel a lot. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hashan the owner treated us as his own guests. He is very generous and hospitable. The food was very delicious and authentic. Haputale is very calm place and less touristy than Ella. I loved it more than Ella. It is surrounded by tea plantations, and very ery close to Horton Plains and Lipton’s seat. The hotel arranged trips for us to those places and to Udawalawe National Park. The roads around the hotel are great for trekking.

This place exceeded our expectations! We were so happy about the cleanliness and the attention to detail. There was furniture to place our bags on, and the shower had a door!! When you enter the main area it is spacious and cosy with plenty of books to read and a couch. Breakfast was good, at the tables at whatever time you want. It was very quiet and the landscape was beautiful with a stunning garden. There was an awesome short cut by foot to the main road and town. It felt overall very established and it had obviously seen very well done recent renovations.

We found this place by chance while looking for lodging on a stopover near Ella. It was the best surprise. We could have stayed here for days. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life! Just wonderful! This was the best accommodation in Sri Lanka we had. I really regret that we could stay only for one night. The sunrise was simply unbelievable. A view of the tea fields, peacocks flying around - Like in a fairy tale. In addition, the hosts took care of delicious food! In the evening there was a barbecue and a bonfire. We met wonderful people, because probably only such people decide to stay in such a place. I will definitely return people here for my next trip to Sri Lanka.
