Set in Les Diablerets, within 37 km of Musée National Suisse de l'audiovisuel, Chambre d'hôtes L'ours Bleu is an accommodation offering quiet street views. Our trip was enhanced by Philippe's friendly hosting & the chalet was filled with hotel quality facilities. Philippe was very accommodating to our needs; a duo of friends here to explore the mountains! We were very impressed with the atmosphere/character of the place & the view from the balcony. We used the chalet to crash after long days of exploring the nearby towns & sites. Our only pitfall was not getting a hire car for our time as some late night walks to the chalet from the train station took their toll (on one of us..) however there is a great bus service through the locality that we depended on during our time here. We were fortunate enough to have good weather (sunny, snow on mountains, clear night skies), with all places open and quiet on the 'tourist' end, if felt like we had the region to ourselves a bit. I could honestly write for ages on this place & our fabulous trip. But to cut it short, I can only suggest that you book this place or somewhere near to enjoy this area of Switzerland. Boasting a shared lounge and views of city, Maison Junod is a guest house set in a historic building in Romainmôtier, 33 km from Palais de Beaulieu. The location was excellent, and once we figured out the unusual entry arrangements using the helpful message we received from the owner, we were transported into a wonderful world of comfort and quality. The bed was very comfortable, the room spacious, and it was great to be able to explore the amazing attic area with its grand piano.
