Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. We did not have time to use the spa. Breakfast choice was very good. The view out on to the harbour was really fantastic, smell of salty water and seaweed, just like home. Beautiful dining area. I met the owner of the property, who was really nice to speak with. The staff were great too. The northern lights were just so beautiful.

The property is in a gorgeous location overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains. Lots of options for hiking and sightseeing nearby. Cozy and comfortable cabin had everything we needed. I’m so glad that we booked 2 nights - you’ll regret leaving after just one night. We didn’t see the lake monster, but did have beautiful aurora borealis shows both nights. This was our favorite place to stay on our whole trip around Iceland.

The hosts were great, greeted us even at the late time we arrived and asked us about our trip and where we've been and where we're going and gave us some helpful tips (only host we had that did that) they upgraded us to a better room and we had some frozen food with us that we couldn't cook and the hosts went above and beyond and cooked the food for us! We were delighted by their hospitality. The room was great, Its location was far and quite remote but that just made it even more enjoyable for us as it was in a prime location to watch the northern lights If you're planning to stay in Egilsstaðir this is the place for you

The property is very new with all the amenities. It is clean. It has a washer and a heated drying rack in the washroom which I think is a bonus.All the cooking utensils are available. The place is so spacious. I would come back again.

And we saw beautiful northern lights at this location. Elsa was kind to show them to us as they started up, and informed the other guests next to us also. They were a spectacular show of northern lights, and one of the highlights of our trip. We also got to give the sheep a bottle. So cute!

We appreciated the welcome chocolate very much, loved the comfortable bed, the quiet location, that it is modern and clean, well equipped, and has beautiful and thoughtful decoration. The fjord surroundings are breathtaking and the host is very friendly.

Practical self-check-in. small kitchen with all the basic appliances. great place to see the auroras since it's located on a farm and far from the city lights. We had our second night of auroras while there and we took some beautiful pics.
