We had the most amazing time at Sotupa eco lodge. From our arrival we were greeted by George, the manager, with fresh passion fruit juice and every day we enjoyed absolutely delicious local dishes and beverages, all ingredients locally sourced. The activities and excursions were incredible and Ciro, our guide so knowledgeable. We got to explore both the river and the surrounding forrest, both of which we could also see from our tranquil balcony. We learned to weave hats and baskets with palm leaves from Allen and lounged in the pool and on the deck. By our departure the staff had begun to feel like family and if we are so lucky, we will definitely return someday.

Sunrise of Tambopata to wspaniałe miejsce, które znacznie przewyższyło wszelkie oczekiwania. Domki są świetnie przygotowane, otoczone moskitierą, posiadające przestronny taras i wygodne łazienki z ciepłą wodą. Jest niezwykle czysto. Gospodarze są cudowni i bardzo serdeczni - codzienne posiłki i soki starannie przygotowywane przez nich na świeżo były przepyszne. Jesteśmy również bardzo wdzięczni za czas i energię, który poświęcili na podwożenie nas samochodem w miejsca, do których bez tego byłoby nam trudno dotrzeć. Trudno wymarzyć sobie lepszych gospodarzy.

The whole place was created in the heart of the jungle preserving the nature and not interrupting the natural habitat. During your stay you can surely spot wildlife. Imagine waking up to the beautiful sounds of the jungle, hear the monkeys, birds on all other animals. The food was really amazing, so good and all natural, products from local farmers! So delicious! The staff are a group of locals who are extremely friendly and helpful! On the top of that, the owners are just amazing people, we have never met somebody with such a great attitude to life. We surely felt like home, even though we were in the middle of the jungle. Highly recommend!

Excursions were excellent and part of what makes the experience of the stay. The food was decent quality and the hotel was very generous with its meals. The seats outside of the rooms were nice to look at surroundings. Bed was massive and comfy.

Despite being in the jungle, the internet connection is awesome (StarLink connection!). The staff was very helpful. And Moncho is super cool, you will like him!

Staying at Tambopata was a wonderful experience. The bungalow windows have netting to keep out all the bugs. In the bungalows, you also get a great view of the river and you can hear the birds of the forest. The showers only had cold water, but that wasn't a big issue for me because the weather is so hot. My bungalow also had excellent wi-fi. The bungalow rooms were cleaned every day. I was able to book tours very easily through Jaime, the hotel owner. My group got to see the Caiman alligators, Lake Sandoval, the Macaw Clay Lick, and the Amazon animal refuge (highly recommend this experience). Jaime took care of all the tour logistics on very short notice. I was so impressed because the tours require you to take taxis and get on and off multiple boats. Jaime let us pay for all the tours at the end of our stay with a credit card. The tour prices were very fair. We ate our meals at the hotel. Jaime's family prepared excellent food. The family gave us a variety of dishes. They had fresh fish, fresh chicken, and they even had excellent vegetarian options. One of my favorite parts of my trip to Puerto Maldonado was the food at this hotel.
