The chalets are built on stilts 5 feet above the ground. Kele Yala provides all rooms with a balcony, and all rooms include a private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. Rooms at the accommodation also feature air conditioning and a desk. The property offers a view of the surrounding wilderness. I loved the location. In spite of the fact that it was pretty remote and the road wasn’t the best, we saw a lot of stars at night and it was very calm + close to nature. The dinner was amazing and delicious.

The cabanas are located in a quiet area along Tangalle beach, less than 5 minutes from this beautiful beach which is mostly deserted. You can still find a couple of nice bars on the beach, providing also free sunbeds with drink consumption. There are a few restaurants around that you can reach by foot. The best part of the cabana is for sure the outside area: there are comfy chairs and an amazing hammock, where you can enjoy the garden and the fresh air in the evening. I stayed 2 nigts in the small cabana and 1 night in the big one. The big one is definitely bigger, with a much more comfortable bed and newer bathroom and less warm, so if you are looking for comfort I recommend you to book that! The dinner was also delicious and with big portions.

Praveen helped us organize everything we needed for our stay, a safari and transport to and from the lodge when we left for our next destination.

There is a fully equipped shared bathroom with bidet and free toiletries. Everything about the place felt like a dream. So calm and peaceful and the lady of the property is absolutely fantastic.

Marakkalagoda Beach is 2.1 km from the apartment, while Hummanaya Blow Hole is 14 km away. The nearest airport is Mattala Rajapaksa International, 60 km from Khomba Lodge, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. It is a huge beautiful building directly at the beach (a quite nice one) with 3 apartments. Our apartment was quite big with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a big kitchen, a large living room and 2 big balconies. Everything is well equipped and you can easily spend several weeks here. It has a big pool, more than enough sunbeds and the beach is just out of the backside gate. There is 24h security on the property and free drinking water. The whole staff is exceptional (especially Rehan)! Everything is clean and well maintained. The location is also perfect as you have tons of nice restaurants at walking distance.

The nearest airport is Mattala Rajapaksa International, 66 km from Villa Rukaththana UNAKURUWA, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. I thought about 2 night there but I stayed 5 😅 I really like the villa, the option of making my own breakfast in the morning was awesome 🥰 Every day the common area was cleaned. Mosquito net is available but only by request. The most beautiful beach - silent beach was only 2 min from the villa! I really enjoyed spending the time there. The staff was really helpful and nice. Near the villa are a lot of family’s small restaurants serving local food. Also for people like me who traveling a lot - the option of making laundry was salutary 😌

Taragala is such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay overlooking the bird reserve. So many wonderful birds in the garden - I could spend all day watching them from the veranda or many tranquil spots round the garden. Saman was a very attentive and kind host. Food was delicious. Didn't want to leave such a special place.
