I arrived on the Titicaca train in the early evening, and a driver had been organized to drive me to the local port, where I was escorted by Juan, an exceptional host in every sense of the word, to the island which he and his father had built. During my stay there, Juan invited me on mini tours around some of the islands, where I learned more about Uros culture and history. The Peruvian meals prepared by his wife Amalia were exceptional- always on time, delicious, substantial and inviting. I was never hungry. Juan ensured that my stay at Amalia was truly exceptional and something which I'll never forget- watching the starry nights from a comfortable and warm bed, enjoying the sounds of silence of the lake, being mesmerized by the sunsets, and learning more about the natural beauty and wildlife of the area. This was truly an amazing experience!

Our stay at Titicaca couldn’t have been more amazing than at Uros Samaraña Uta Lodge! Cesar and Lucy are lovely, passionate guest and definitely one of the highlights of our stay here. We loved to spend time with them introducing us to the Uros people and Titicaca life. The Lodge is so incredibile! On a floating island in the lake, facing the most romantic side of the laguna, such a luxury room with an incredibile deck, so warm in the frozen Titicaca nights, and the best food, prepared with love and care. You cannot miss to be here when in Puno. Recommended from the bottom of our heart.

What a magical place! What Ivan and his family have built is truly amazing: from the comfortable rooms with bio toilets and hot water shower, the super nice sun (and star gazing) decks with hammocks and sunbeds, to the spacious lobby and dining area. On top of that, Ivan and his family are super nice and attentive hosts, and listening to their stories was a true highlight of our stay. Please be aware that they’re literally sharing their home and their resources with you. A home that requires a lot of maintenance and constant care, and resources that are definitely not as easy to acquire as the centralized electricity and drinkable tap water that some of us are accustomed to. That deserves immense respect and consideration. This island is quite far from the more touristy part of the Puno side of the Titicaca lake (about 15 mins by boat). This means that you’ll really get to experience how these communities live, as well as the silence and beautiful nature around you. However, this also means that you have to come very well prepared and dress accordingly, as the boat ride will be chilly - although blankets are provided on the boat to keep you warm - but also breathtakingly beautiful. I have never written such a long review and there’s really so much more I would like to say about this magicalw place but if there is one thing I’d like all future visitors of Uros Titicaca Lodge to know is this: this i s their home, and their way of life, which they hold dear above all else. So be kind. And dress properly ;)

Situé sur l'île flottante d'Uros, l'Uros Summa Paqari se trouve à Puno, à 7 km du lac Titicaca. Le port de Puno est à 5 km. Toutes les chambres comprennent une salle de bains privative. Accueil exceptionnel de Vidal et de sa famille. Tout est fait pour que notre séjour soit des plus agréables. Délicieux souper. Vues à couper le souffle. Excellente tour des îles en matinée avant de rentrer à Puno.

Situé à 5 km de la côte de Puno et construit sur les îles flottantes d'Uros, l'Uros Qhantany Lodge propose des hébergements au cœur du lac Titicaca. Enchanting and peaceful location. The hosts were attentive, welcoming and very informative. They offered a small tour of the Uros Islands in traditional clothing which was a very nice touch. We also did a short traditional boat tour at sunset and we were shown how traditional fishing is being done. The food that was prepared was good, simple and plentiful.

I think it was the most beautiful place I've ever stayed in! There are 3 houses on a floating island, owned by a father and a son. They are extremely nice people! The price is ridiculously small for what they offer. The view from the huge windows of the house is amazing, and so is the stay on the floating terrace.
