Ying Yang is ideally located between Comporta and Melides and easily accessible by car. The place is very peaceful, situated in a pine trees forest. We stayed in two different rooms and we liked both a lot. They're beautifully decorated in an eclectic but consistent fashion, the chalets themselves are very nicely crafted and they're very well equipped: air conditioning, kitchen with some electric devices like juice extractor, bathroom with plenty of hot water. The wifi is remarkably fast given that you're in the middle of the forest, a quick speed test gave me 20Mb up / 10Mb down which proved large enough to remote work there. We were really seduced by the attention the owners are giving to details: António was in constant contact with us, explaining the location of the place and how to get to the chalet; when we got there during the evening, lights in the room were on to help us find the way, AC was on, welcoming us with a warm temperature. António is very friendly and he gave us a couple of good addresses to visit and eat nearby.

Offering an outdoor natural swimming pool, Nômade is located 5 km from Melides. This lodge has apartments with a private terrace ans pool views. The property is beautiful and a haven of peace and tranquillity. The staff were all so kind and welcoming it went beyond our expectations. we travelled with our 2 year old son and they even provided high chairs and plastic cutlery for the breakfast. Also it was the best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel! Would definitely come back.

Lovely traditional cottage, 2 bedrooms, on the side of a hill, overlooking a valley just outside Alandroal. There was a small orange grove where we were encouraged to pick fresh oranges. We sat on the patio in the evening and watched "rush hour", the sheep being herded in from pasture. It is in marble country, and one can see marble slabs and overhead cranes to move the blocks on one of the hills, where marble is cut. (Take one of the Rota de Mármore tours. We found ours very interesting.) There was a grill, a traditional outside bread oven, a small fireplace, good WiFi, TV, comfortable living/dining room, washing machine, etc. It was wonderful.
