I loved just sitting on my deck of my glamping tent and listen to the wind in the trees and the birds. Tents were very comfortable, good bed, beautiful bathroom and I woke up on a cold morning where I made a fire and took a warm bath, a relaxing place to be. Staff is very kind. There’s one gamedrive per day included where nature is beautiful, there are no elephants but this means beautiful trees. You can book a drive to see rock art of earlier people. Food is very good, creative with great combinations of tastes and spices. We were sad to leave.

Exceptionally high quality and comfortable rooms and common areas. The restaurant/kitchen staff and management were welcoming and made us feel incredibly relaxed. So much so I was close to tears sitting by the fire at night drinking the tastey red wine on offer. Our game driver Sibu was a legend! Knowledgeable and friendly and truly cares about the reserve and all the amazing wildlife. The feeling I had inside whilst at Zulu Rock Lodge is indescribable and the best experience of my life by far.

Breakfast menu was lovely - great to be able to choose from the regular menu. The log cabin chalet with its private veranda and newly renovated luxury interior - what a treat!! En suite bathroom for each of the three rooms. Room service was excellent with staff serving in such a professional manner.
The unit we stayed in is not the unit featured on this link. We stayed in a little wooden cabin with 3 bedrooms, although there were only two of us. The location is perfect and not too far from town, The cottage was quaint, private, very comfortable and exceptionally clean. It had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back.
Absolutely stunning location in the Northern Drakensberg Mountains - breathtaking views from the comfy little wooden cabins. Amazing food cooked freshly every day - from tailor made breakfast to an excellent three-course dinner every evening. The common lounge provides a cosy environment to while away rainy afternoons reading or playing board games. Range of walks for different abilities, including children, and management can provide excellent advice on these. All in all a wonderful place to disconnect and enjoy nature.
The chalet itself was very spacious, the privacy was ok, as you could hear your neighbours next door. The rooms were big as well as the spa bath in the bathroom. The chalet we stayed in had heaters as well as an ironing board, a fireplace and a washing machine. Hats off to the cleaning staff zandile who was ever so willing to help. The overall estate was nice with a spa, games room, tennis courts as well as an adventure golf at the resort.
Shawn welcomed us when we arrived and shared interesting information about the area, biodiversity and people. The cabin is more like a chalet. It feels safe and is fairly secluded. Very well equipped
Loved the wooden floors and plantation shutters, kept cool without aircon. Room was big and bathroom fittings superb
The place.....clean and peaceful... Its very cold in winter, bring addition blankets and a electric or gas heater......no fireplace as its a wooden cabin.
My request for a specific chalet was accommodated, and I much appreciate that. The kids' trampoline is always a hit with both the young and mature. The on-site convenience store stocks all those extras that we forgot to bring along. Nkosi, the temp porter was of great assistance with shuttling our luggage between the car and the chalet.
The chalets look like old cabins from the outside but are really modern and bright with beautiful paintings of the sea inside. The beds are very confortable. The shower has a lot of pressure which is rare. We chose this hotel because of it's direct access to the beach, but be aware that the stairs going down are not only very slippery but also slanting and it's quite a climb back up. The restaurant has a view of the endless beach and a wide choice of food for all tastes.
The loge was nice, rooms are as in the pictures. Breakfast was ok, dinner was ok. Loved the dinner from the last night (Phuthi, tomato relish and braai meat) thoroughly enjoyed it. No network by chalets, network available by the restaurant and reception. If you are after some peace and quiet, no interruptions from phone's and tv's, then this place is for you.
