Just outside Ypres, you’ll find the cosy family hotel of Flanders Lodge, with a nice winter garden restaurant and the charm of a log cabin.

Very nice quiet location, but easily accessible by road . Absolutely immaculate inside in all areas . Every staff member helpful, polite , very welcoming. Really can’t rate this hotel highly enough. Very very impressed. The young lad at the reception and also in the restaurant was just so customer focused. I did many hotels on this trip away but Flanders Lodge Hotel was by far the best . Will definitely return. Many thanks to all staff. Neil Carrington

    Ypres has something for everyone.

Ypres has something for everyone. The restaurants have a variety of culinary options for every taste. Bars are friendly and comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating for drinks, a coffee, snacks or meals. Bicycles for hire mechanical or electric allow a visitor access to the countryside free from traffic and ease of viewing around the town. Tourist information in the Cloth Hall are very helpful and friendly. The historical buildings and the green environment really add towards an air of peace. A special treat is a walk along the town walls. Parking in the Market Square is not a problem nor overnight parking either. Don’t park in the Square on Friday night as there is a Market on Saturday and your car will be towed away. Shopping is a delight with supermarket, chocolate, books, fair trade and clothing all within walking distance of the Square. If Commemoration is part of your visit the Menin Gate Last Post ceremony each evening at 8 p.m. is very moving and an experience different from all others. Ypres is a gateway to Flanders: its people, its green environment, cycle paths, surrounding historical monuments with visitor centres throughout the countryside and its delicious foods.

The Last Post daily tribute at Menin Gate is very moving, Ypes is very special place that I would definitely revisit and discover more around the outskirts of the town. The hospitality is friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed walking around the wall riverside. We recommend if your visiting Brussels it's definitely worth popping out to Ypres

We were a group of friends, we visited local war graves and stayed for the Last Post at the Menin Gate, which was well done and very respectful (although you need to get there at least 1 hour before the service to see anything). We do intend to visit again to explore the region further.

Ieper (Ypres) is an ideal base for exploring WW1 sites & cemetaries. The historic Cloth Hall contains an impressive museum and if you go it's worth paying the extra few euros to climb the 230 steps to the top of the bell tower. The views of the city are impressive from here. The Last Post Ceremony every night at 8 pm is a moving and thought provoking tribute. It's a must if you can make it.

Ieper holds a horrendous history when it comes down to the tragic loss of life. But on the other hand it has a sense of peace when you walk around. The battles took place 108 years ago, so its good that there are still preserved sites to visit that this is never forgotten.

Location. Street parking just outside for two motorcycles. There is a car park near by but the closer the better when on a motorbike. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable. The coffee machine, biscuit's and fruit bowl were nice little extras, made all the difference to the welcome. Our twin room was spacious enough and the bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was very good with the usual continental meats, cheese, eggs, cereals and more. Easy walking distance to the centre and Menin gate.

Brilliant location, short stroll to the centre couldn't have been better. We had the two rooms on the top (4th) floor as a family of four and a private bathroom on the 2nd floor. Free tea and coffee in the dining area. Free WiFi. Free parking on street outside. Very clean and new. Unusual check in, you knock on the door of the owners house two doors down but she was lovely and came and showed us around. Very welcoming.

The apartment is beautiful, very spacious and comfortable for 4 people, also well equipped for preparing meals when you want a break from eating out. It's a perfect alternative to staying in a hotel, especially for a family. It's ideally situated to explore Ypres on foot but also in a quiet location and there is parking very close by. The hosts Peter & Valery are very helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was very close to the Menin Gate, In Flanders Field Museum and a variety of restaurants. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. I also appreciated receiving advance notice that the lobby was under construction. We did not notice any dust or noise from their renovations (it looks like it's going to be very nice when completed).
