The owner is absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating. They bought and began renovating this hotel not long ago and have done an amazing job so far! They are receptive to suggestions and always available when you need something extra such as towels, pillows etc...The location is great and the room is very clean and comfortable. We have stayed here multiple times and love it every single time!

Great waterfront with free parking and plenty for kids.
Great waterfront with free parking and plenty for kids. A lot of great places to eat for different budgets. We ate at Theo’s, Fionn McCools and Thai Plate.
You will need a vehicle to get around.
Just don’t stay at the Stone Gate Inn.

Simple, clean, everything you need!
Simple, clean, everything you need! Fridge and microwave and a balcony over looking the lake are a plus. Nothing fancy but the owners are super nice and it's very reasonable.
Tim Horton's is just down the street and there is lots to do in Orillia or just sit back with a drink on the balcony overlooking the scenery!

Orillia is a perfect get-away spot.
Orillia is a perfect get-away spot. Casino is handy, boat tour on Lake Couchiching worth taking, boutiques for shopping, Low Carb #1 on Rama Rd. great selection for diet conscious people, and a variety of terrific eating places. Fair priced accommodations throughout the city and I highly recommend Lakeside Inn on Creighton.

Orillia is a lovely city , historic with the Stephen Leacock Museum , right on the waters of Lake Simcoe and Couchiching , good shopping and many restaurants. Easy driving from Toronto and GTA. Also very close to Casino Rama for those who wish to gamble and also they have great entertainment. We saw Chris DeBurgh the night we stayed.

Only disappointing thing was that at check in, I was told they keep complimentary cookies in lobby after check in times. I was so looking forward to it. Checked every hour from check in till 8pm and there was not any brought out. When I asked night time desk guy. Chinese guy, Alex I think or Eric something like that. He was not friendly. Said the cookies were frozen in the back. I requested one or two for my husband and I but he refused to get us one. Got the impression that he was just not wanting to make an effort or do anything on his night shift but sit in the back room. Was sadly disappointed.
Obviously the hotel was of a vintage character... Covid 19 probably put a serious crimp in any renovation plans. I would recommend that should you embark on renovations attempt only two rooms at a time. No doubt you will acquire more furniture - comfy chairs, a larger table suitable for limited dining. Over time maybe acquire some nice pictures from yard sales. The table and sink/microwave area was a great idea and a modernized bathroom would be great.... It all takes time and money AND WORK! But you appear to be on the ight track.
The staff and the property overall are just awesome, I’ve stayed at St.Regis, the trump in Toronto and many higher end hotels in Montreal but nothing competes when the staff are just so kind and friendly it’s a cool property that I think my family and I will stay at every summer as a little weekend getaway. They pool and hot tub is awesome and the arcade is perfect for kids it’s one of the only affordable family getaway’s and it’s close to everything!
It’s conveniently located in the northern central area of Ontario perfect for a base camp while touring through the various towns and villages by motorcycle. Philip the owner there’s a very friendly fellow who makes you feel very welcome.
Appreciated breakfast. It was fine but the room was too small, crowded and some food items were not readily available. When there is a large group staying at hotel and all eating at once, better planning would help.
It said breakfast included which is one main reason I chose it, but when we checked in the service staff said no breakfast, there is even no hairdryer which should be a basic appliance for a hotel.
Overall the room was fine with a couch and desk area. The hotel seemed quiet with no noise coming from other rooms or outside. The location was near walking trails and the main water/beach area.
Staff were wonderful. They were cheerful and offered ideas for dining and attractions. Location of hotel was perfect for seeing the downtown, waterfront and being close to sights.
The location across from lake view is beautiful
Still close to amenities by car. The room and comfy. Always the place I choose when staying in Orillia even in the winter.
Clean room, friendly stuffs, good size pool even water is little cool. It's close enough to other attraction points, it is a good choice for budget hotel.
