Pirna is an ideal base if you want to explore Saxon Switzerland. The Old Town is compact but very lovely. It has very tranquil ambiance, which suits travelers seeking a peaceful getaway. For the people to love old architecture, Pirna is a gem as it is completely unspoiled with modern concrete monsters. There are many great restaurants and cafes within the Old Town, though most close quite early. From Pirna, it only takes within less than 1 hour to get to Bastei, Bad Schandau or other smaller towns.AnFinland

This apartment is very good for two persons for medium or long stay. One of the main and the most beautiful town of Saxony, Dresden is very close from this place (about 30 minutes by train or car). Other places which are worth to visit like Konigstein fortress or a stone bridge in Bastei are also not far from this place. I'd like to recomend stay in Piran in Ferienwohnung Elbtraum to others also because of owner who is very helpful.SebastianPoland

You can self cater if you want to, or you are close to bars and restaurants of altstadt Pirna if you prefer. Supermarket and bakery right across the road, and right behind that was the bridge across the Elbe that takes you directly to the railway station or into the pretty town centre with a 10-20 minute walk. Super location for day trips into Dresden - about a 30 minute rail trip - or going down the Elbe to explore the excellent walking tracks.

We were in a top room, which was uncarpeted and had sloped ceilings. It was charming, but I would have preferred a room on a lower floor as we hit our head a few times on the ceiling. About 40 minute drive to Dresden. Free parking available on-site, but it is limited. The accommodation is situated close to the Pirna town center on the other side of the river, Lidl is in 500 meters, near the railway station, ferry station is across the street. One of the best rented apartments I have ever been to. Thank you!

You could borrow bikes from the owner, there was a small kitchen and dining area in your apartment and a shared kitchen and large dining room in the lobby area. The bed was comfortable, wifi was good and the facilities were great. A 10 minute walk to the ferry crossing to get to Pirna.

There is a small pool, but unfortunately, the weather was not so hot to try it out. I believe it would be perfect in the evening after a long day of hiking.
