Tübingen is a historical university town near the edge of the Schwäbische Alb (a low range of forested hills). The old town is delightful, with numerous pubs, restaurants, and individual shops and boutiques (very few chains). Be sure to take a guided boat trip on the Neckar river!

Tübingen is one of my favorite cities.
Tübingen is one of my favorite cities. It's walkable, has lots of good restaurants, and lots of character. Eating out can be pricey, but there are lots of places to get groceries, or fruit and sandwiches during the day, and places in town and along the river to picnic. Best things to do include enjoying a favorite beverage in the square in front of the Rathaus, walking in the Schönbuch Nature Reserve, or a side trip/hike to the village of Bebenhausen and its medieval monastery-turned-royal hunting lodge. If you like boats, you can also rent a variety of them to explore the Neckar river, which runs through the town.

Tübingen is a beautiful little town about an hour south of Stuttgart. It has one of the most extensive and beautiful Old Towns in the area. There is a large variety of shops and eateries, including a good selection for vegan and vegetarian individuals. There are natural and historical sights to see in the area. For example, there are paddle boats, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards for rent as well as hiking trails in the area. You might also enjoy some of the castle and museum amenties offered by the university. I would spend at least two days in the area.

We chose Ibis Styles because of its proximity to our son's residence and also to the city center and major locales which are all within walking distance of the property. The construction work going on in front of the hotel was a spoil-sport but the hotel ensured there was no noise in the rooms. The wi-fi and other basic amenities were available and the staff were extremely cordial, however we found that the room lacks a wardrobe and since we stayed for 11 days, it was difficult to manage out of a couple of suitcases in a small room. The food that we ate was excellent (vegan, vegetarian) although there are options to suit every palate.

I loved my short break in Tubingen, and would have loved to stay longer, the place is absolutely beautiful and has a lovely relaxed vibe, loads of beautiful little bakeries and coffee shops and some lovely restaurants.
The bus and train service is excellent for exploring other cities and tourist attractions. Overall, I cant wait to go back.

The town was lovely.
The town was lovely. What was unexpected was that pretty much everything was closed Christmas Eve day and the day after Christmas (12/26). We were unaware of this tradition and may have planned a bit differently.
Very close to station and yet the old town was also within easy walking distance. The free coffee and chilled water on tap available from the lobby 24 hours a day was very welcome (especially given the hot weather: it was nice to fill my water bottle before heading out and after coming back). This was a simple, efficient, unfussy kind of a hotel. All the guests seemed to be content and everything worked well. It was really a pleasant place to stay.
Great hotel, classic German historic structure right next to the town's castle. That means a narrow cobblestone alleyway approach and limited parking, but well worth the trip to stay in one of our favorite cities in Germany at a friendly, and well-run hotel. Great German breakfast buffet in the morning and helpful staff who, of course, all spoke English.
Because I know the city, I knew that the hotel was a bit far from the city center, but would be easily accessible by bus. It was super-easy to check in, the room was comfy, the wifi good, and the breakfast was exactly what I expected. It's a very typical small-town German B&B. The owner also speaks English, which is probably a bonus for a lot of people.
nice staff and great breakfast were the saving grace for the hotel. They also have a mini fridge in the halway with cold water most of the time which was great. Albpass included in the stay was convenient for doing things around but bus drivers in the area are grade A .... something, so please don't rely on public transport.
We used this as a base to hike through Schonbuch national park. It's right on the southern edge of the forest, just 5 mins to get into nature. The town of Tubingen and the train station is a bus ride away. Supermarkets 10 min walk.
Self-service laundry in the basement (via another app) and amenities for self-catering.
The personel is very friendly. Breakfast is simple but various enough.
The hotel faces the road, so traffic could be quite noisy in some rooms (as in mine), I imagine. The hotel is a nice walk of about 20 mnutes from the center of Tubingen. There is a writing table in a room which is very convinient.
I had a nice time in this apartment during my 3 weeks work visit at Tübingen. The apartment is spacious and very well equipped. It is located in a calm area and has a garden view. The host was attentive and gave me all the information I needed during my stay :) I can fully recommend!
The hotel was located extremely close to the historical district as well as to shopping and dining yet the room was not too noisy. The staff were warm, welcoming, and spoke English. The room was comfortable and we would stay there again if we were in the area.
The hotel was at a walking distance to the old town/center, the room was clean and had enough space. Also, having an hotel with parking close to the center was very convenient for us traveling by car with 2 small kids.
The breakfast was good for the price.
Wonderful location, very clean and spacious room and bathroom, attractive dining room with a beautiful river view, and a great breakfast which was included in the price. The hotel is new and modern, and the staff is helpful.
The host responded quickly through the platform. We were checking-in late so we needed self-checking with a key box.
The hotel is super near (less than a minute walk) a bus stop that brings directly to the train station.
Excellent and excellent hotel. Highly recommend it I was pleasantly surprised in all ways. Super clean, well furnished and amazing breakfast with lovely helpful staff truly a hidden gem. Joy from USA
Great location a 5 minute walk to Tubingen Old Town area. Reserved private parking. Apartment well equipped, good wifi, and excellent information provided for apartment use and area attractions.
great parking, close to the centre . see below for location. the hotel was beautiful and the breakfast ample. sadly not stul a 5 dstar due to the resteraunt. a pearl in a bad area.
The location of the hotel is quite convenient, offering easy access to public transportation. Additionally, the hotel provides a serene and quiet environment for a restful stay.
