If you ignore the small nooks and crannies, the hotel room was 3 meters long, 2.4 meters wide and 3 meters high. There was also a separate bathroom with toilet and washbasin measuring 1.75 meters by 1.4 meters, not including a shower measuring 0.90 meters by 0.75 meters. The breakfast selection was extensive and good. The dining room exuded a stately ambience.

Even though tranquil Le Mans has a well-preserved medieval centre and virtually intact Gallo-Roman walls, it is most famous for its iconic 24-hour race. Motorsports lovers the world over descend for a day (and night) of non-stop racing on the Circuit de la Sarthe.
This legendary track encompasses parts of the permanent Bugatti Circuit, but also spills out onto normal roads which get shut for the occasion. One local restaurant is even placed right by a straight which cars hurtle down at top speed before braking for the bend near the Golf des 4 Heures club in Mulsanne.
Also within the circuit are the Antarès events venue and La Sarthe Automobile Museum, open even when there is no racing. The name of the latter refers to the Sarthe River running through the city centre. Colourful, half-timbered buildings line its historic banks, and steps climb gentle hills in the old town.
More charming houses fill the streets surrounding impressive St Julian's Cathedral, started in the 11th century. The city history is detailed in the nearby Museum of Queen Bérengère, and the town hall is in part of the former Palace of the Counts of Maine.
Booking.com’s Le Mans accommodation includes hotels with pools, cheap guest houses, and apartments near the train station.
I was wary of Le Mans as I am not interested in formula one.
I was wary of Le Mans as I am not interested in formula one. I need not have been as there is no sign or sound of it in the attractive town. We enjoyed exploring the attractive car free ancient thoroughfares. Another beautiful French town with great shopping, restaurants and culture.

A large city with useful selection of shops.
A large city with useful selection of shops. The highlight was our visit to the historic, Plantagenet quarter and the two town centre museums (free entrance.) Good selection of restaurants for all budgets. For a bit of pre-Christmas cheer it was ideal. A walkable town centre with a good tram service which goes as far as the 24 hour race Track.

Fantastic location in the old town.
Fantastic location in the old town. Architecture is simply stunning and has to be seen to be believed. No where else quite like it. Lovely restaurants and bars a stones throw. People are lovely and friendly. Great weather. The annual Summer evening light projections / show are superb. Lots to also explore and enjoy in main centre. A drink in the square people watching is a good way to spend an hour or two. Our 2nd time back in ten years to stay with Brigitte. We will be returning!

The room for people with disabilities was accessed from outside at the opposite end of the building from the disabled parking and the restaurant. A 200 metre walk in the cold, dark and rain was hardly "accessible".

Le Mans offers much more than the 24h car race, the old town on the hill is very beautiful. Of course, another impressive cathedral - don't miss it. And also don't miss to have Crepes and Galettes ;-)
I had a wonderful stay at the Ibis Hotel in Le Mans. The rooms are very well equipped with comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and free Wi-Fi. The hotel offers private car parking, which is very convenient if you are travelling by car. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of hot and cold dishes, fresh bread and pastries, and excellent coffee. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for exploring the city.
The hotel is very well renovated and I think the comments about the surroundings that require attention are no longer valid: all is super nice and clean. The room had everything necessary for a quick one night stay, the heating was fantastic (December in France is not so cozy, so I was happy to be warm while being placed on the ground floor). Breakfast is good enough and had scrambled eggs and pancakes, so again - well done.
We were very lucky to find this magnificent property, an oasis of beauty and 18th century luxury in the center of Le Mans, close to the historic sites and shopping. Even our teenagers were impressed with the spaciousness and comfort. Our host was amazingly helpful and generous with his time. Thanks to him we felt at home in the city and discovered things we never would have on our own.
The host was lovely and she helped us with information about the city and the Museum of 24 Hours of le Mans. She also prepared breakfast for us and it was a truly unique french experience. The house is lovely and full of objects/furniture of the past which are in very good condition, so it resembles the 1900. For us it was a great choice!
The room was spacious and spotless. Excellent value for money . Very close to the historic part of town with many restaurants and bars. I would happily stay there again. Excellent breakfast and underground parking with no extra charge despite being told there would be! Easy drive to Le Mans race track for the 24 Hrs
It was a last stop on a 2 week tour of Spain and France got there 2pm our room was ready got changed for a welcome dip in the hotel swimming pool which was clean and sunbeds
Tram outside takes you into the town of le mans lots of bars and restaurants
Overall a good last stop
Novotel is a good choice
The place was huge after being cramped for two weeks in small hotels it was welcomed to be able to just spread out. It is in an incredibly secure safe building. We were easily able to find nearby bars restaurants and a grocery store. Also, it was an easy bus ride to the 24-hour Le Mans exhibit.
We had a very good time. The hotel's garden is lovely and we had the chance of having dinner there, which as pretty nice. It is not very central, but for us, this was a plus, as we were looking for rest and access was easy. Breakfast was also great, with many options and staff was really kind.
I stayed here for the Le Mans MotoGP weekend, and it was a fantastic option. The hotel is right next to the train station, which is great if you have heavy bags. The facilities are nice and the room was spacious, with nice bed and bathroom.
Le Mans is not just the circuit but has an amazing old part of the city and this is probably the best location for such a visit. The house is directly opposite the back of the cathedral and a prime position to se the nightly light show.
Perfect overnight pitstop whilst travelling through France. Well located in the centre of Le Mans. Safe parking but it is limited so recommend booking in advance. Rooms were clean and dog friendly. Bathroom facilities good also.
Super clean and comfortable apartments with 1 bedroom and main room with convertible sofa. Perfect condition, all electronics, coffee and shampoo for guests. 1 km from Le Mans circuit. Highly recommended for reasonable price!
The staff is exceptional here. Lovely people to check us in. And the dining room staff was fabulous, too. Great food in the hotel restaurant. Great location not far from the old center of town. Walkable.
Excellent location right on the edge of the old town of Le Mans. Wonderful host who met us to help with parking near the property, and gave us a map of the old town showing us where to eat/drink etc.
Spacious room, beautiful bathroom, all looking brand new....I made a request for a quiet room and it was the best hotel night for me in a long time, I did not hear a noise...Very good breakfast.
