We were given a very warm welcome to this beautiful old farmhouse, room was clean & comfortable & there was fresh milk in fridge. Excellent breakfast both mornings.
It’s a steep 15 min walk down thro old picturesque streets to the harbour & back up again after a meal, which we were very happy to do - but others may prefer to drive down!

For a 3 day visit there are plenty of places nearby to visit, including a couple of national trust places (Greenways, Agatha Christies house; and another county home., art deco and with impressive views from the gardens). Brixham was a surprisingly great find too.

Wonderful little town.
Wonderful little town. Very picturesque and some nice hidden nooks and crannies. Enjoyed several river trips, visited Agatha Christies holiday home by boat which was lovely . Some nice pubs in Dartmouth particularly the Seven Stars - oldest pub in town and good food and beer!
Will plan another trip soon!

Being February it wasn't beach weather and we only did a two night mid-week trip. We visited the charming local museum and strolled around the narrow streets and local shops. Dartmouth is built on two sides of a valley but if you don't like walking up hill there is a regular bus to take you around town. We took advice and booked restaurants ahead. The Royal Castle Hotel offers a really good menu in a pub setting where the food and service were excellent. We also ate at the Embankment where the menu is not so traditional but the food was excellent. We took a boat trip with a very entertaining and informative commentary. Sadly the steam train from Kingswear wasn't running mid-week out of season but we drove to Buckfast Abbey which is well worth a visit. Finally we lunched at Rockfish, majoring in fish of course, another excellent meal to set us up for the drive home.

Loved being by the river.
Loved being by the river. Ferries for vehicles or on foot very close to Bayards and reasonably priced.
Ample gift shops, food stores, museums, Information Building (excellent staff) to help.
Walks and historical landmarks nearby, Bayards Cove, Dartmouth Castle (a bit expensive for what we saw and cafe closed an hour earlier than the castle), historical walks to castle.
Plenty of pubs, eating houses etc.
Some restaurants exceptionally expensive but with so many £m's of pounds worth of yachts and boats in harbour, they would cater for everyone.
River cruise lovely to Ditsmarsh there and back, viewing Agatha Christie's house alongside the river.
Could probably stay a week (as opposed to 3 nights) and still enjoy Dartmouth.
Was told that February/March is a good time to visit as Dartmouth is not "too full" and you can get into the pubs and restaurants without queueing. However, some river boats not operating until March/April or May but there were adequate amounts operating for number of people in Dartmouth during February.
Rose and Sean both lovely .. The view, garden, cleanliness and location marvellous .. need to have energy in your legs for the walk back from town ..
We had the College View room which was small and the bed also but did not spoil our stay .. the two other rooms have estuary views and more space so we would request them on our return ..
We didn’t do breakfast and undoubtedly missed a treat along with mixing with the other guest diners .. do give it a go .. you are very likely to love it .. as did we ..
What a FABULOUS stay at the Dartmouth B&B. The host, Neil, was so friendly and helpful. He recommended restaurants and bars to visit - i couldn't have asked anymore. The other staff I met were equally wonderful. The breakfast was divine!! Definitely worth setting the alarm for and for a very good price too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it clean, well kept and stunning. The views from the hotel were breathtaking even on a foggy morning. Thank you for a great weekend!
The location of this B&B is fantastic for a stay in Dartmouth. With mainly a level walk into the centre of Dartmouth everything is on your doorstep.
The breakfast was lovely and far exceeded my expectations. We have previously stayed in other B&B’s and the main hotel in Dartmouth, and this breakfast was far superior to the others. As a vegetarian, it is often hard to find a venue to cater for me without it feeling like an afterthought, but it was lovely.
Lovely location in Dartmouth, opposite the harbour and very close to the ferries and the shops and restaurants.
The staff were all fantastic, really helpful and very friendly. The rooms were lovely although at the very top of the hotel, but the staff kindly carried our bags up.
We ate in the restaurant and the food and waiting staff were excellent.
Fabulous location near to all Dartmouth has to offer. Beautiful accommodation with outstanding views, the apartment had everything you need with windows going all the way around looking down to the river. Plenty of outside space with the most stunning views, will miss eating breakfast on the terrace and taking in the views, absolutley outstanding.
Very welcoming and relaxing hotel in excellent central location. Love the décor and ambience. Fabulous food; the breakfasts especially are a delight for those who are up for a full cooked breakfast, with local fayre, and vegetarians alike! Nothing too much trouble. Great to see it's dog- friendly too :-)
Bayards cove is tucked away down a side street of Dartmouth close to the estuary. The inn is ancient, beautifully restored, atmospheric and cosy. There were lots of thoughtful touches, well appointed room, welcoming staff and a delicious breakfast with loads of choices.
The hotel was quite special, it was what i was hoping it would be, the owner and staff were so helpful and friendly, took time to talk you, even though they were busy, always a pleasant atmosphere, food was very good. Look forward to going there again in the near future.
Location, right in the centre of town, and car parking nearby, friendly staff when we found them, clean and fresh with decent shower plenty of tea and coffee and trusted honesty box for extras . Expensive place Dartmouth so fair price considering.
Great stay, the staff were brilliant our room was excellent it would have put some of the other places in Dartmouth which we have stayed to shame and half the price. The food was lovely.
Well done the Seven Stars we will be back.

Location spot on. Once you figure out the parking in Dartmouth it was easily managed. Lady in tourist information really helpful. Great breakfast selection and well cooked/presented. Room facilities just right.
This apartment is spacious, clean and very homely. A great place to stay. Great location, in the heart of Dartmouth. We stayed in February and there were plenty of parking spaces in the nearby car park.
The Seale Arms is located in an ideal place for visitors to explore all that Dartmouth has to offer. Most attractions, pubs and restaurants are within a very short walking distance from the pub.
The location was excellent, so close to Dartmouth town, yet out in the countryside. The weather was very kind so we were either at the beach or cooking on the bbq outside the chalet
Good location near to Dartmouth, well looked after especially during the important given the storm we experienced, clean and the hosts were very friendly and artisans like us.
